02/28/2024 UPDATE #4 - 2024

I'd like to thank everyone who came out to the Show of Shows and National Gun Day Shows in Louisville, KY last weekend. They were both excellent shows. My next show will be the Maryland Arms Collectors Show in Timonium, MD, the "Baltimore Show". I will have 6 tables this year and will be located at D 24-26 and E 24-26. Hopefully this will be my somewhat permanent location going forward for some time. Today I received my Antiques Roadshow tour assignment dates for this year. I'll be at all five cities we are taping in for the upcoming season. You can apply for tickets on line by visiting the PBS Antiques Roadshow Ticket Sweepstakes page: https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/roadshow/tickets/apply/.  The five cities are:

May 1 - Las Vegas, NV @ Venue TBA

May 14 - Bentonville, AR @ Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art

May 29 - Littleton (Denver), CO @ Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms

June 10 - Urbandale (Des Moines), IA @ Living History Farms

June 18 - Baltimore, MD @ The Maryland Zoo

I'm on the road right now but will try to do some website updates this coming weekend and early next week. I hope to see many of you on the road, either at an upcoming show or at an Antiques Roadshow taping.

02/10/2024 UPDATE #3 - 2024

I'd like to thank everyone who came out to the Las Vegas Show at the end of January and the big Civil War Show in Dalton, GA last weekend. I've finally had the opportunity to get caught up on shipping, some photography and description writing, so you will find some new items on the website and some more will be listed over the next week or so. My next show will be in Louisville, KY the last week of the month. I'll be set up at the Show of Shows on Wednesday evening February 21 and Thursday February 22, using one of the tables of my good friend Cliff Sophia of CS Arms. I will only have some WWII and later period edged weapons with me at that time. However, I'll have my full inventory display at the National Gun Day gun show which will be held that weekend Friday-Sunday February 23-25. I'll be in usual location at the front of row J, near the front door with 10 tables of arms for sale. I look forward to seeing you there.

01/15/2024 UPDATE #2 - 2024

More new items have been added to the website and I'll try to add a couple more items over the next week or so, along with other projects I'm working on and as my travel schedule allows.  I'll be hitting the road this coming Friday January 19 to drive roughly 2,000 miles to the big Las Vegas Antique Arms Show. Set up is on Wednesday night January 24 and continues on Thursday January 25. The show is open to the pubic from 9AM-5PM on Friday and Saturday January 26 & 27. A special "3-Day Honored Guest Pass" is available for sale if you want access to the room during set up on Thursday for early bird shopping. My tables are right at the front door of the Pavilion and you simply can't miss me when you walk in the room. I'll also be providing consulting support for my colleagues at Cowan's Auctions, who will have a booth immediately across from me on the wall, to the right of the entry door. As usual, I've got a lot of new items that I just have not had time to list, so they will be available at the show. From Las Vegas I'll be heading across the country for the Chickamauga Civil War Show the following weekend in Dalton, GA on Saturday & Sunday February 3-4. As I will be traveling so much over the next couple of weeks, I will have limited ability to ship orders. Anything ordered by Wednesday evening 1/17 will be shipped by this coming Thursday 1/18. After that, I will not be able to ship again until the middle of the week after the Dalton Show. Of course you can always pick items up at the shows I will be attending, if that is more convenient for you.

01/06/2024 UPDATE #1 - 2024

Happy New Year! Thank you to everyone who came out to the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly last weekend, it was a nice way to end the year. The less than nice part of the trip was that I picked up the loathsome COVID while I was there and have been sick as a dog for the last few days. I'm getting better and should be back to normal shortly, but it was a pretty nasty bout with the bug. I finally felt well enough to start some website updates, so look for at least a couple of new items to be listed in the next day or two. I'll try to update as best as I can over the next week or so, along with other projects I'm working on. My next show is the big Las Vegas Antique Arms Show, with set up on Wednesday night January 24 and continuing on Thursday January 25. I've got a lot of new items that I just have not had time to list, so they will be available at the show. Have a great new year and I hope to see you at an upcoming show.

12/20/23 UPDATE #16 - 2023

As 2023 comes to a close I would like to thank everyone who had done business with me this year and in years past. I'm doing my best to update the website with a variety of new items over the next few days as well approach the Christmas holiday. I will finish off the year at theNation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA December 29-31. My first show in January will be the big Las Vegas Antique Arms Show at the Westgate Casino & Resort Thursday January 25-Saturday January 27. I wish everyone a wonderful holiday seasons, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah or whatever holiday you may or may not celebrate this time of year, as well as a Happy New Year. 12/09/23 UPDATE #15 - 2023

Thank you to everyone who came out to the big Middle Tennessee Civil War Show last weekend in Franklin, TN. We had a record crowd and it was great to see so many old friends and make a few new ones as well. As usual I've acquired some great new items that I will be working to photograph, describe and post on the site over the next 2-3 weeks. Between my crazy work and travel schedule and the holidays, it will be somewhat hit and miss, but I hope to add a number of new items in the next 10-14 days. My last show of the year will be December 29-31 at the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA. If you are in the Northern Virginia area, it will be a good opportunity to see some of the new items that I have not had time to get on the website yet. Also, don't forget to follow me on Facebook as I always post pictures of each show's set up and inventory and it is a great opportunity to see some of the new material that is not on the site yet. A DM, text or email is all you need to send to get some more photos of any item you are interested in and to get the price. Well, back to work on the site. I wish everyone a wonderful holiday seasons, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah or whatever holiday you may or may not celebrate this time of year, as well as a Happy New Year.

11/04/23 UPDATE #14 - 2023

Thanks to everyone who came out to the big Gettysburg show last weekend. It was well attended and a great show. I'll be trying to do some website updates this weekend, with a variety of items. I've already listed a great, early WWII delivery "bladed blade, red washer" KA-BAR USMC fighting knife. I'll try to add a few more things this weekend as well. Next week is the big Wanenmacher's Tulsa Arms Show - the largest gun show in the world. I'll be in my usual location upstairs in the E table pods, overlooking the lower level. The show is Saturday & Sunday November 11-12. The following weekend I'll be at the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA. That show will be at the Dulles Expo Center Friday November 17-Sunday November 19. The next week is Thanksgiving, but also the big Tennessee Military Collectors Association Show (TMCA) at the Cool Springs Marriott between Nashville and Franklin, TN. That show is "Black Friday" November 24 and Saturday November 25. Finally the big "Nashville" Civil War Show will be held at the Ag-Expo Center in Franklin, TN the first weekend in December, Saturday December 2 and Sunday December 3. It's the biggest and best Civil War Show in the country. Wow, just listing what I'll be doing over the next four weeks in terms of shows and travel has me worn out! I hope to see some of you at one of these great shows. In the meantime, I'll do my best to get some new items on the website. Just be patient if you order something, as this crazy travel schedule sometimes means that it is difficult for me to ship, particularly when I am on the road. It's hard to believe that 2023 is about to come to a close. Happy Trails and I hope to see you at a show soon.

10/15/23 UPDATE #13 - 2023

Well if you've been keeping up with my travels on Facebook you know that I've done four shows in the last four weeks and you have probably noticed website updates have been non-existent for most of that time. I'll be trying to rectify that over the next week or so. My next show will be the Fall Gettysburg Show at the All Star Event Complex in Gettysburg October 28-29. In the meantime I'm going to try to get some stuff updated on the website and try to recuperate from running myself ragged on the road!

9/21/23 UPDATE #12 - 2023

I hope everyone has enjoyed looking at the new items that I have added to the site over the last couple of weeks. Based on sales, I guess many of you found those items worthy as most are on their way to new homes. I'll be on the road for about three weeks straight so the only real updates will be via Facebook while I'm at shows. As a quick reminder I'll be at the big Chicagoland Civil War Show at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, IL this weekend with the show open to the public 9AM-4PM Saturday September 23. Next weekend I'll be at the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA September 29-October 1. The following week, the first full weekend in October, ill been Louisville for the big National Gun Day Show. That is October 7-8. Because of the Louisville show I will not be at the North-South Skirmish Association Fall Nationals which will be held that same week and weekend. Come by one of these shows if you can, and if not try to keep up with new items by looking at my Facebook page where I always try to post photos of my show tables.

9/4/23 UPDATE #11 - 2023

I hope everyone has had a pleasant and relaxing Labor Day Weekend. I've been working on site updates over the last week and a number of new items have been added and more are in the cue to be added over the next few days. I appreciate all of customs who have been purchasing some things almost as soon as they are added to the site. So, don't hesitate if you are interested in something, as that item in might be off to a new owner more quickly than you expect! As a reminder, my next show will be the OVMS Max Military Show in York, PA September 14-16. There will be a lot of new inventory there that is not on the side as I have simply not had the time to add all the new items, in particular long guns, which take a lot longer to photograph. The following weekend will be the big Chicagoland Civil War Show at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, IL on Saturday September 23, followed by the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA September 29-October 1. The first weekend in October I'll been Louisville for the big National Gun Day show and because of that I will not be at the North-South Skirmish Association Fall Nationals which will be held the same week and weekend. So keep checking the website for updates and I'll look forward to seeing you at a show sometime this fall.

8/24/23 UPDATE #10 - 2023

First I'd like to thank everyone who came out to the show in Marietta a couple of weeks ago. It was a great show and I enjoyed seeing friends and customers from that area that I do not see on a regular basis. If you have been monitoring the website, you have probably noticed that I've done a number of updates over the last week or so and many of the newly listed items have already found new homes, or will be heading to them shortly. I thank you for your continued support. I hope to continue to update the sight somewhat more regularly over the next 2-3 weeks. My next show will be the OVMS Max Military Show in York, PA September 14-16. 7/29/23 UPDATE #9 - 2023

As the summer heat continues to bake much of America, it was nice to spend a few days in the more temperate climate of Alaska while touring with Antiques Roadshow a couple of weeks ago. Of course I came back to the heat and humidity of Northern Virginia, doing the North-South Trader Show in Doswell, VA as soon as I got back and then the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly the following week. I'm trying to do some website updates over the next few days and have just listed a very interesting and potentially one of a kind, experimental percussion breechloading sporting rifle by William Greener. I'll be traveling much of the first week of August so updates will be sparse and shipping not possible until the second week of August. I'll be at the North Georgia Relic Hunter's Show in Marietta, GA at the Cobb Civic Center on August 12-13 and look forward to seeing those of you in the Chattanooga and Atlanta areas there. In the meantime stay cool, surf my site and find a piece of history that you want to add to your collection.

7/04/23 UPDATE #8 - 2023

Happy Birthday America! I hope everyone has enjoyed the extended holiday weekend. You'll see a number of new things were added to the site over the last few days and many were spoken for almost instantly. Thank you for your continued support. As I noted in my last update, I'll be on the road quite a bit in July. Antiques Roadshow is going to Alaska for the first time in our 28 seasons, so I'll be in the Anchorage area from about July 7 through July 12. We tape there on July 11. As soon as I get back I'll be heading to Steve Sylvia's Summer Antique Arms Show in Doswell, VA (the old summer Richmond Show). That show is July 15-16. The following weekend I'll be at the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA again. During that run there won't be any website updates and shipping will be difficult if not impossible. I'll try to get the updates going again towards the end of the month. Enjoy your summer.

6/20/23 UPDATE #7 - 2023

I'd like to thank everyone who came out to see me a couple of weeks ago at the New England Arms Collectors Show as well as the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, last weekend. It was also nice to meet some of you at the Antiques Roadshow tapings in Akron, OH and Sturbridge, MA that we did over the last couple of weeks. In the coming week or so I'm going to try to catch up on website updates, shipping sold items and everything else that goes into running this one man show. I'll be on the road quite a bit in July. I'll continue to try to update the site over the next couple of weeks as I can, so stay tuned for some nice items to be listed.

5/25/23 UPDATE #6 - 2023

As we move into the Memorial Day weekend I think it is worth remembering what this holiday is about and why we take time to honor those who gave all for our country. I will be spending much of the weekend working on the much over due website inventory updates that you have been waiting for and I hope to add a number of new items over the next few days. Don't forget to check the Show Schedule page https://collegehillarsenal.com/shows to see where I'll be over the next few weeks, but a quick synopsis is: an Antiques Roadshow taping in Akron on June 6, The New England Arms Collectors Show in Sturbridge, MA June 9-10, an Antiques Roadshow taping in Sturbridge, MA on June 13 and the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly June 16th-18th. Remember that shipping is problematic while I am on the road, so sometimes there will be a lag time of a week or two between when an order is received and when I will be in a position to ship it. I am also more than willing to deliver an item at a show, if that is more convenient for you. Enjoy your holiday weekend and enjoy the new items that I will be adding in the coming days.

5/11/23 UPDATE #5 - 2023

It's hard to believe I haven't done a "News & Announcements" update in a month. I'll try to do a better job this summer. I'd like to thank everyone who came out to see me at the various shows I've done over the last few weeks, including the Chicago Civil War Show in Wheaton and the Mansfield Civil War Show. The Antiques Roadshow taping season has started. We taped at the LSU Rural Life Museum on May 2 and will be taping at the North Carolina Museum of Art next week in Raleigh, NC. The taping is on Tuesday May 16 and I will be heading to the North-South Skirmish Association Spring Nationals the next day, so I should be there to start setting up on the afternoon or early evening of Wednesday May 17. I'll be there through the weekend and open to the public Thursday May 17 through Saturday evening May 20. The following week I'll be in Nashville for a few days, before I'm back on the road again. I'm working on some website updates and a few new handguns have been added to the site and I hope to add some more during the next week or so. I've also got a small collection of armed images coming that I hope to start listing the week of the 22nd. Check the Show Schedule page https://collegehillarsenal.com/shows to see where I'll be over the next few weeks, but a quick synopsis is: an Antiques Roadshow taping in Akron on June 6, The New England Arms Collectors Show in Sturbridge, MA June 9-10, an Antiques Roadshow taping in Sturbridge, MA on June 13 and the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly June 16th-18th. Also, for those who ask when they can see me on Antiques Roadshow, I'll be on next Monday May 15 in a new "Junk in the Trunk" episode with a great collection of letters from an East Tennessee Confederate soldier who later galvanized and fought for the Union! It's a great story and what happened with the letters after the appraisal is a good story as well. So, if you have a chance tune in next Monday night for the whole story. Check your local listings for your local PBS station and air times.

4/10/23 UPDATE #4 - 2023

I'd like to thank everyone who came out to Tulsa two weeks ago and TMCA show this past weekend. For those who saw me in Tulsa, the horrible strep infection that I contracted out there did not kill me, but I'm still not 100% despite the regimen of intense antibiotics. Over the next couple of weeks I will try to get some new items on the website. I do have a lot of new inventory but travel, shows and being quite sick for a few days are all factors that have prevented updates over the last couple of weeks. This week I'll be at the Spring Gettysburg Show April 15-16, with the Chicago (Wheaton) Civil War Show the next weekend April 21-22. On May 2 we will be taping our first Antiques Roadshow for this season, in Baton Rouge, LA. All of the cities where we will tape during 2023 will produced new shows that will start to air in January of 2024. The weekend after the Baton Rouge taping I will be at the Mansfield, OH Civil War Show May 6-7. As the summer season cranks up and the gun shows become fewer, travel for Antiques Roadshow will take over. I will do my best to get some items photographed and described and will add new inventory to the site as I can.

3/23/23 UPDATE #3 - 2023

I can't believe I haven't written an update in almost two months. It's been crazy and hectic with lots of time on the road doing shows and in Cincinnati getting ready for Cowan's Premier Firearms sale on May 3. Antiques Roadshow travel is about to spin up as well, so I won't be sitting in any one place for long any time in the near future. I apologize for the limited number of site updates as of late, but the lack of time to take photos, and lack of access to my photo studio due to travel have really put a crimp in updates. I hope to have a plan to resolve that and get back to more regular inventory updates in the coming weeks. In the meantime, if I do a show near you, come see me! The lack of internet updates means I have a lot of fresh inventory to see. The next few weeks are crazy for shows, with Tulsa April 1-2, The Tennessee Military Collectors Show April 7-8, the Spring Gettysburg Show April 15-16, the Chicago (Wheaton) Civil War Show April 21-22 and the Mansfield, OH Civil War Show May 6-7. I'll also be taping Antiques Roadshow in Baton Rouge, LA on May 2! Lots of travel! Thanks for visiting the site and I'll try to get some new inventory listed in the next couple of weeks as time allows for photography.

1/31/23 UPDATE #2 - 2023

I'd like to thank everyone who braved the heavy snow in the mountains of Arizona and made it out to the big Las Vegas Antique Arms Show. It was a great show as always and I can't wait for the 2024 show! This weekend I'll be at the big Chickamauga Civil War Show in Dalton, GA. Set up is Friday February 3 and the show is open to the public Saturday and Sunday the 4th & 5th. For once the show is NOT on Super Bowl weekend. I'll have some business in the Atlanta area on Monday 2/6 and hope to be back in the office and working in Nashville on Tuesday 2/7. This week I've been catching up on shipping and paperwork and have managed to do some small site updates. I hope by the end of next week there will be a number of new items listed on the site. Also, if you are an Antiques Roadshow fan, I've added the 2023 tour stops to my show schedule so you can see where we will be taping this year. Tickets are viable by lottery, so visit the Antiques Roadshow website for information about how to get tickets and possibly have a chance to attend one of these events: https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/roadshow/. 1/12/23 UPDATE #1 - 2023

Happy New Year! I hope that the new year is going well for everyone so far. You've probably noticed a few new items listed on the site, many of which were spoken for pretty quickly! I'm on the road, spending a few days consulting in Cincinnati and then heading out for the big cross country drive to the Las Vegas Antique Arms Show, which is one of my favorites. You'll find me right near the front door, in the front row with 6 tables of pretty cool stuff, much of which is fresh and that I have not had time to get listed on the website. I'm in Row A - Section C - Tables 2,3,4 and 7,8,9. Just look for my College Hill Arsenal ad banners on the red table covers to find me. I'll also be set up with my good friend Cliff Sophia of CS Arms who will have two tables next to me (Row A - Section C - Tables 1 & 10). The Las Vegas Show starts with set up on Wednesday afternoon 1/18/23 at 5:00PM PT and with set up continuing on Thursday. The show is open to the public 9AM-5PM on Friday and Saturday January 20 and 21, but for those who don't want to miss out on the potential of an early bird bargain, a four-day pass can be purchased from the promoters that allows you in like a dealer from 5PM on Wednesday afternoon through the entire show during all of the hours dealers have access to the room. Bear in mind that I'll be on west coast time out in Las Vegas, so for me it will be 2 to 3 hours earlier than those of you on the east coast or on central time. I'll be back from the show around January 30, depending on what I need to do on the way back and of course I'll be at the big Chickamauga Civil War Show in Dalton, GA the first weekend in February, with the show open Saturday and Sunday the 4th & 5th. Thanks for visiting the site, I hope to come back from Vegas with some cool new items to get onto the website!

12/22/22   UPDATE #71

As 2022 comes to a close, I'd like to thank all of your who regularly visit this site for taking time to do so. I also want to thank all of you who have been customers this year and in past years for supporting me and my business. I apologize for the limited number of items that I was able to list for sale during 2022, but my heavy travel and consulting schedule conspired against me in terms of keeping fresh items added to the site. I sincerely hope to do a better job of keeping the site updated in 2023. Some new items have already been added and more will be coming during the next few days. Don't forget that at the end of December I'll be at the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA. That show will be Friday & Saturday December 30-31, 2022 and January 1, 2023. I'll also be at the big Las Vegas Antique Arms Show in mid-January. The public show dates are Friday & Saturday January 20 & 21, but like some many large shows a special multi-day pass is available for purchase that allows you to enter the show from the beginning of dealer set up on Wednesday afternoon January 18 and runs through the rest of set up on Thursday January 19 and through the end of the show on Saturday. Thank you all again for your continued support and I wish all of you a happy, healthy and peaceful holiday season and successful New Year.

It was well attended and I did a lot of business with those who attended. I am catching up on the paperwork and bookkeeping associated with running a business and I have even managed to add one new item to the website today. Over the rest of this coming week I'm going to try to add several more new items to the site so you should have some new things to look at soon! Don't forget that at the end of December I'll be at the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA. That show will be Friday & Saturday December 30-31, 2022 and January 1, 2023. It's hard to believe that tomorrow is December and that 2022 is almost over. It seems like just a few days ago it was January and I was driving out to the big Las Vegas Show! I want to thank everyone who came out to the Tennessee Military Collectors Show last weekend the Friday & Saturday after Thanksgiving. The show hosts say it was a record crowd and all of the vendors and the club are thankful for everyone who came. This weekend is the big Middle Tennessee Civil War Show (the old "Nashville" show) at the Ag-Expo Center in Franklin, TN. The show is Saturday & Sunday December 3 and 4. At the end of December I'll be at the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA. That show will be Friday & Saturday December 30-31, 2022 and January 1, 2023. So, true to form I'll be ringing in the New Year at gun show! Who would have thought? I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and I'll be working on website updates next week after the Civil War Show.

I'll be in town much of this week getting caught up on shipping and other business responsibilities and then I'll be off on the road again. I'll be at the big Wanenmacher Tulsa Gun Show next weekend, November 12-13 at my usual tables upstairs along the edge over looking the floor, E51-E55. From Tulsa I'll be traveling to Northern Virginia to do the big Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA, which will be held Friday through Sunday 18-20. The following week is Thanksgiving of course, which also means it's time for the fall Tennessee Military Collectors Association (TMCA) Show. It will be held the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 25-26. The weekend after that the 2022 show schedule comes to an end at the big "Nashville" Civil War Show at the Ag-Expo Center in Franklin, TN. The show is Saturday & Sunday December 3 and 4. While I'm in town for a couple of days I'm going to try to get some items updated and added to the website. In the meantime, try to come by a show if you are in the area and check out my show posts on Facebook, you might see something on the table you are interested in, but has not been added to the website yet. I look forward to seeing many of you at a show in the near future as the 2022 season winds down!

10/21/22   UPDATE #67

I'd like to thank everyone who came out the Greater New Orleans Militaria Show last weekend. It was a good time, a nice show and of course the food was exceptional! I'm here in Nashville for a couple of days before I'm off on the road again. I've caught up on some shipping and miscellaneous paperwork and have started doing some site updates. Next weekend I'll be at the Autumn Gettysburg Show at the Allstar Event Complex adjacent to the Eisenhower and Aspire Hotels in Gettysburg. That show is Saturday & Sunday 10/29 & 10/30. I'll be out of town all of next week handling some of my other responsibilities and will be back in Nashville early the week after the Gettysburg show. I'll be in Tulsa the second weekend in November as well, but I intended to try to do some major site updates in the week between those two shows, as I have a lot of fresh inventory I have not had the opportunity to list yet. Thanks for your continued support, I hope to see many of you at a show in the new future.

10/04/22   UPDATE #66

I have to apologize for not updating this page for a month, but I've been on the road as many of you know and have been a multiple shows over the last few weeks. This week I'm in Winchester, VA at the North-South Skirmish Association's Fall Nationals Event. The booth that I share with Cliff Sophia of CS Arms will be open everyday this week from Wednesday 10/5 through Saturday 10/8 from about 8AM to at least 5PM with the exception of Thursday and possibly Friday when we may stay open until 7PM or so and Saturday, when we may close around 4PM. From here I head back to Cincinnati to pick up property from the 10/26 Cowan's Auction which will be displayed at the Greater New Orleans Military Show the weekend of October 14-16, along with my tables of normal items that are for sale. I won't be back in Nashville until around the 19th or 20th of October due to travel, so for the most part any orders placed between now and then will not be able to ship until I am back in home base. In the meantime, if you are in Northern Virginia, MD, PA or anywhere near the N-SSA come see me this week and next week if you are in the New Orleans area come to the show in Mandeville, LA.

I'll finish the month setting up at the big National Gun Day Show in Louisville on September 30 and that show will be Saturday & Sunday October 1-2. I'll also be on the road the entire month of October with the N-SSA Fall Nationals the 4th-9th of October, the big New Orleans Military Show October 15-16 and the Fall Gettysburg Show October 29-30. 8/8/22   UPDATE #64

I'm in Nashville for a couple of days and working to update the website. A couple of new items were added today and I hope to get a couple more before I leave town again. I'm catching up on shipping, paperwork and all the things you need to do when you are home, including laundry! I'll be at the North Georgia Relic Hunter's Association Civil War & Antique Arms Show this weekend in Marietta Georgia. The show is at the Cobb Civic Center and is open to the public 9AM-5PM on Saturday August 13 and 9AM-3PM on Sunday August 14. 8/3/22   UPDATE #63.5 - Correction!

When I posted yesterday about my lecture at the Kennesaw State University Civil War Collector's Showcase, I made the assumption that it would be at the Kennesaw Mountain NPS site. I remember attending a similar event at the NPS site about 20 years ago that also involved living history demonstrations, etc. so I assumed it would be held there. I WAS WRONG. The Civil War Collector's Show Case will be held at Kennesaw State University! The address is:

KSU Center - ROOM #400

3333 George Busbee Drive NW

Kennesaw, GA

The event will be open to the public from 9AM-1PM. I'm not sure when exactly I'll be speaking, but I can assume it is in that fairly narrow window of time!

Thanks for reading the update, hopefully you'll come to the right location!

8/2/22   UPDATE #63

I apologize for the fact that it has been another month since I could provide a status update, but I'm home for about 48 hours before heading off to look at a collection in the Carolinas and then to Kennesaw, GA to give a lecture this weekend. If you are in the Greater Atlanta Area I will be at Kennesaw State University speaking as part of their university sponsored Civil War Collector's Showcase. Collectors from around the region will be sharing some of their Civil War era items here, displaying them and talking about them. I will be speaking about collecting in general, collecting Civil War material in particular and will be also be taking questions after my presentation. Then I'll be back in Nashville for the first part of next week when I will hopefully add some new items to the website. Next weekend, Saturday & Sunday August 13-14 I will be at the North Georgia Relic Hunter's Association Civil War & Military Show in Marietta, GA at the Cobb County Civic Center. Again, if you are in the Greater Atlanta Area, please come by and support the show. So, until I'm in Nashville next week working on site updates, take care, be safe and enjoy collecting!

6/28/22   UPDATE #62

It's hard to believe that I've been on the road for a month and it's been that long since I wrote one of these updates, let alone added new items to the website. For that I apologize and will try to correct that in the coming days with some new items to look at. I traveled close to 10,000 miles this month with trips out west to Boise, Santa Fe and the San Francisco Bay area. The drive back from California was nearly 2500 miles on its own, as it included a trip through Cincinnati. Thursday I leave for a quick collection pick up in Florida but should be back sometime Saturday, if it goes smoothly. I'll work on the site over the holiday weekend and then I'm off for more travel, Antiques Roadshow tapings and guns shows that will fill up much of July.

The last Antiques Roadshow taping of this year will be July 12th in Shelburne, VT. Due to other business in the New England region I'll be leaving Nashville area on Wednesday July 6. As usual I'll be driving to it as later that week is the big National Civil War Show (the old "Summer" Richmond Civil War Show) in Doswell, VA the weekend of July 16-17 at the Meadow Events Center. From there I'll move to the Northern Virginia area to do the July  Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA July 22-24. I should be back in Nashville from that trip the evening of July 25. As a result, shipping will be curtailed between 7/6/22 and 7/25/22, resuming on 7/26. I'll work on updating the site over the weekend when I'm back from Florida and if I can get caught up on shipping, paperwork, etc after being gone for a whole month, I might get one or two items listed before I leave for Florida on Thursday. Thanks for surfing the site and have a great July 4th holiday.

5/29/22   UPDATE #61

As we enjoy this Memorial Day Weekend I want to remind everyone to take some time to reflect on the meaning of the day, which started as the Post-Civil War "Decoration Day" and evolved into what we call Memorial Day today. Think about the meaning of the day and the men and women who sacrificed their lives for our country and our freedom.

My hectic travel schedule will remain crazy for the next 30 days or so. This Tuesday (5/31/22) we'll be taping a new episode of Antiques Roadshow in Boise, ID. During June I'll be doing additional tapings in Santa Fe, NM and Woodside, CA. As I drive to tapings rather then fly, this means I'll be burning up the highway miles over the next few weeks. As a result of my travel schedule I will not be back in Nashville until the very end of June and I will be unable to ship any items purchased through the website until around the 27th of June. Please be patient while I'm on the road. I'll try to do some Facebook updates during this time frame and provide a few "behind the scenes" photos as well. I'll look forward to being back in Nashville at the end of June to get new items on the website and I'll be back doing shows in mid-July, starting with the National Civil War Show (the old "Summer" Richmond Show) in Doswell, VA the weekend of July 16-17, followed by the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA the following weekend.

5/04/22   UPDATE #60

Wow! I've been on the road for seven weeks, with only a couple of days home here and there during the last weeks. This was a record for me, doing 7 shows in 7 weeks. Previously I had never done more than 5 shows in a row and that was exhausting! The downside to working that hard is that an old shoulder issue has flared up and I may have a torn rotator cuff. I've got an MRI this week to figure that out and I'm crossing my fingers that this will not require surgery that slows me down for a substantial amount of time.

I've updated the Show Schedule to reflect the Antiques Roadshow taping schedule for this year. I've been assigned to all five cities this year, which is a first for me. In the past I had typically been assigned to two or three cities, so my summer will be extremely busy as well. The taping schedule means I will miss a couple of summer shows that I normally attend, but I'm looking forward to doing so many Antique Roadshow events!

Despite a limited amount of time at home that I can work on the website, I will be trying to take photographs and get some new items listed over the next few days. As before, I will be concentrating on handguns and possibly bayonets, as they are smaller and I can photograph more items more quickly that way. Longarms are particularly time consuming to photograph well. As I get things done, I'll get them listed on the site.

Thank you for your patience while I've been traveling so much and attending so many shows. I think you will find that many of the new items that I have to list on the site are particularly nice and some are quite scarce, so I think you will find it was worth the wait.

3/29/22   UPDATE #59

Thanks to everyone who came out to the big shows in Baltimore, MD and Manassas, VA these past two weeks. Both were well attended and very good shows. It was nice to see some old friends and faces that I have not seen in a couple of years due to the cancellations of the Maryland Arms Collector's Show.

As noted, April is a crazy busy month with a show every weekend through the end of the month. In fact, 5 shows in 5 weekends, all in April! I'll kick off the month with the big Wanemacher's Tulsa Arms Show April 2-3, upstairs in my usual location at tables E51-55. Next weekend I'll be at the Spring Gettysburg Show, with shows in Franklin, TN then Wheaton, IL and finally Mansfield, OH to round out the month. You can check my "Show Schedule" page for more information about shows I will be attending over the next few weeks as well as their specific locations. I hope to see you on the road!

3/06/22   UPDATE #58

Thanks to everyone who came out to the big shows in Louisville two weeks ago, both the Show of Shows and the National Gun Day show. The crowds were some of the largest that I have seen in years, particularly the gun show, which had attendance that reminded me of the crowds that were typical 20 years ago. It was very encouraging to see so many people gathering to pursue their collecting hobbies.

As many of you know, last year I took on an official position with Cowan's Auctions (a Hindman Company) as Senior Consulting Specialist in their Arms & Armor department. This does not change anything regarding my business, and I will continue to be offering fine and collectible arms for sale on this website and at shows. However, it does involve a fairly substantial time commitment. Right now there are two major auctions in preparation, their live Premier Firearms Auction which will be held on Wednesday April 27 and the single owner sale of the Larry Ness Collection of Frontier and Native American Used Firearms which will be on June 8. As I am cataloging essentially all of the Ness collection and many of the higher end and more historically important arms in the April auction, I have had to spend a lot of time in Cincinnati over the last couple of months. This will continue through March, so sadly website updates will be very limited for the foreseeable future. Between time at Cowan's a busy show schedule, I'm simply not able to be in Nashville enough to do regular site updates. April will be even worse in some respects as the month has 5 weekend and I will be at a show every one of those weekends! I'll do what I can to update the site, but I want to apologize for the limited additions over the next few weeks. I will be updating the site this week, so do check back and see what new items have been added.

Keep the following upcoming shows in mind, which I will be attending. March 19-20 the Maryland Arms Collector's Show (the "Baltimore Show") at the Cow Palace on the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, MD and the Virginia Gun Collector's Show March 26-27 at the Fairgrounds in Manassas, VA. April will kick off with the big Wanemacher's Tulsa Arms Show April 2-3. You can check my "Show Schedule" page for more information about shows I will be attending over the next few weeks.

2/10/22   UPDATE #57

Thanks to everyone who came out to The Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly last weekend. It was a well attended show. This week I've been catching up on all of the behind the scenes work that goes into running a business and I've finally started getting some updates on the website. I hope to be adding items almost daily though next Monday. Next week, I'll be out of town doing some consulting and cataloging Tuesday 2/15 through the following Wednesday. I won't be able to ship any purchases during that time. Then I'll be in Louisville for the Show of Shows and the big National Gun Day Show. My main retail set up will be at the Gun Show which will be held in North Wing of the KY Fair Expo Complex. I will have a small display at the Show of Shows in South Wing A of the same complex. I'll be at Show of Shows Wednesday 2/23 and Thursday 2/24 and at the gun show Friday 2/25 through Sunday 2/27. It's two great shows in one huge expo complex, with nearly 2,000 tables at the OVMS Show of Shows military show and more than 1,000 (possibly as many as 1,500) at the gun show. If you are in the region it is worth the trip! Until I'm back in town and writing updates, I hope to see you at one of these shows.

1/31/22   UPDATE #56

Well it's been about three weeks since my last update and in that time I've only been home about 48 hours. I got back from the Las Vegas show last Wednesday and was off to Dalton, GA on Thursday! I want to thank everyone who came out to both of those shows. They were really good shows and it was great to see some customers who I have not seen out west since 2020. This week I'll be at The Nation's Gun Show @ The Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA: Friday February 4-Sunday February 6. Since I'm delivering inventory to my buddy Cliff Sophia of CS Arms that he had out in Vegas and bought at the show, I'll be heading out on Tuesday. I should be back a week from today and any website purchases that happen between today and then will be shipped on Tuesday February 8th.

With any luck I'll be doing some website updates between the 8th and 14th of February, before I've got to head out on business again. Don't forget I'll be at the Show of Shows and big National Gun Day Show in Louisville at the end of February. Two great shows in one huge expo complex.

1/06/22   UPDATE #55

Happy New Year! It's been almost a month since my last "News & Announcements" update, which should indicate that I was on the road quite a bit, and when I had time to do updates I was concentrating on adding inventory. I want to thank everyone who came out to the Chantilly, VA show last weekend, it was quite busy. I managed to make it home on Monday, despite the serious weather and heavy snowfall in Virginia. Right now I'm trapped at home in Nashville with several inches of snow on the ground and most of the roads in Nashville impassable. Based upon the weather forecast and lack of available heavy snow removal equipment, it will probably be Saturday before I can even get out of the house so for the time being any and all shipping has been postponed. I will continue to work on updating the website over the next few days, as long as I have electricity and internet connectivity.

Many of you ask when I will be appearing on the Antiques Roadshow and often I simply don't know when a segment that I taped will be airing. I do know that I will be appearing on Hour 2 of the Wadsworth Mansion episodes which will air on Monday January 10th on PBS. Check your local listings for the times. The item I will be appraising was taped last August while we were in Middletown, CT.

The second half of this month and the first part of February are very busy for me and I will be on the road for almost a month straight, driving thousands of miles to do shows. The next shows I will be doing are:

The Las Vegas Antique Arms Show @ The Westgate Resort & Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV: Thursday January 20-Sunday January 23

The Chickamauga Civil War Show @ The Northwest Georgia Trade Center in Dalton, GA: Saturday January 29 & Sunday January 30

The Nation's Gun Show @ The Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA: Friday February 4-Sunday February 6.

Due to the long driving distances involved traveling from Nashville to Las Vegas and Las Vegas to Dalton, I anticipate being on the road from January 16 through January 31. During that time no shipping will be able to take place. I may also have to be out of town early next week for some consulting, but that will be weather dependent at this point in time.

12/06/21   UPDATE #53

I want to start by thanking everyone who came out to the big Middle Tennessee Civil War Show last weekend. The attendance was really fantastic by both dealers and the public. It had been several years since there was such a flurry of activity at the show, both buying and selling. I picked up some wonderful new items and sold a large number of items as well. I appreciate everyone who stopped by and said "Hi" and in particular appreciate all of the customers. Today has been dedicated to paperwork, unloading, getting organized and getting caught up. I'll start working on photography of new items on Tuesday afternoon and with any luck by sometime Wednesday new items will start to be added to the site.

***A quick note about the site. It appears that a conflict in security updates between the web hosting service and the credit card processing service has resulted in the glitch that has caused repeating charges and issues with the website credit card checkout. While these scripts and conflicts get sorted out, the website based card processor is disabled. You can still call me and give me your credit card for the sale, but for a few days the site based processor will be off while my web master gets this straightened out.***

I've updated the Show Schedule page for 2022 and it should give you a rough idea of where I'll be setting up next year. As always, the show schedule is always somewhat fluid, so I'm sure there will be some adjustments as we get into next year. The next shows I'll be attending are:

12/31/21-1/2/22 The Nation's Gun Show @ The Dulles Expo Center - Chantilly, VA

1/20/22-1/23/22 The Las Vegas Antique Arms Show @ The Westgate Resort & Convention Center - Las Vegas, NV

1/29/22-1/30/22 The Chickamauga Civil War Show @ The North-West Georgia Convention Center - Dalton, GA

Until we meet again at a show I wish all of you all of the blessings of this holiday season, a Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah or whatever holiday you may celebrate. I also wish you all a very Happy New Year.

11/30/21   UPDATE #52

It's been almost a month since my last new update, due to constant travel. I'll try to get a couple of new items on the site today and tomorrow, but it will be next week before updates really get rolling again. Don't forget that the big "Nashville Civil War Show" is this weekend!

December 4-5 - Franklin, TN @ The Middle Tennessee Civil War Show. Held at the Willliamson County Ag-Expo Center. This is the largest Civil War show in the country and old timers will remember this as the old "Nashville Show" which was relocated to this better facility from the old Nashville Fairgrounds several years ago.

A quick note regarding making purchases on the site right now: There is a glitch in my credit card processing interface that does not show the buyer that the card has been approved. This had led to a couple of customers making the same order more than once and having their card charged each time they attempt the order. To prevent this while my web tech works on the problem, I have disabled the credit card module on the website. You can still make purchases via credit card, but you will need to call me and give me the number so I can process it manually. As soon as this glitch is resolved I will get the card processor back on line. So for now, if you want to purchase something you will need to reach out to me via email or telephone so I can take care of the order. I apologize for the inconvenience.

11/04/21   UPDATE #51 - I'm done calling it a "COVID" update!

I want to start by thanking everyone who came out to the big Autumn Gettysburg Civil War Show last weekend. The attendance was fantastic by both dealers and the public and my understanding is that it was the largest Civil War Show ever held in the town. I'm still on the road and will be for most of this month as the fall is extremely busy with numerous collector shows, auctions, etc. Over the next few weeks I will be set up at the following shows:

November 13-14 - Tulsa, OK @ the huge Wanenmacher Tulsa Gun Show. Held at the River Spirit Expo on the Tulsa Fairgrounds. My tables are E51-E55, upstairs, over-looking the lower level.

November 19-21 - Chantilly, VA @ The Nation's Gun Show. Held at the Dulles Expo Center. I'll be set up with Cliff Sophia of CS Arms.

November 26-27 - Franklin, TN @ The Tennessee Military Collector's Show. Held at the Cool Springs Marriott.

While I'm on the road I will not really be in a position to update the website, or ship items much larger than a bayonet or a handgun. I'll do what I can about site updates, but travel makes photography of the new items impossible, and time constraints are an issue as well.

I thank you all for your continued support and hope to see many of you at a show in the near future. Remember that while most of the stuff coming from China for the Christmas season is stuck off the California coast waiting to be unloaded, the items on my website are typically in stock and ready to be shipped!

10/23/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #50

With the Delta variant of the pandemic appearing to finally be petering out, I may have to consider eliminating the title "COVID-19" from my updates on this page. Hopefully the on coming flu season will be just that, a flu season and hopefully we can put COVID in our rear view mirror. I hope everyone has enjoyed the number of new items that I have listed over that last week or so. A number of them sold within an hour or two of posting them, so I appreciate everyone checking the site regularly and grabbing those items that they really want to add to their collections. The big Autumn Gettysburg Show will be held next weekend over Halloween, October 30-31. I'll be there with a dozen tables and lots of inventory. I'll look forward to seeing those of you that can make it out to that very nice fall show.

Thank you to those who made it out to the York Antique Arms Show and the Max Military Show this past weekend. We had a good time and a good show. The next few weeks will be very busy. I'll be at the Chicagoland Civil War Show in Wheaton, IL this coming weekend. The show is held in conjunction with the CADA Show at the DuPage County Fairgrounds on Saturday September 25. From Wheaton I'll be heading to Northern Virginia to do two show simultaneously. I'll be setting up at the North-South Skirmish Association's Fall Nationals on Monday September 27 and will be there through the week. The "hooch" that I share with Cliff Sophia of CS Arms will be open Tuesday September 28 through Saturday October 2 from roughly 9am-6pm and probably until 8pm or 9pm on Friday evening. On Thursday afternoon 9/30 I'll be closed so I can set up some inventory at the Nation's Gun Show at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA. That show will be Friday October 1-Sunday October 3. Cliff Sophia will man my tables at the show on Friday & Saturday and I'll be at the Chantilly Show on Sunday October 3. So, between Cliff and myself we will both be setting up at two shows about 40 miles apart, simultaneously. Don't forget the big National Gun Day show will be in Louisville at the KY Fair-Expo in South Wing A the following week, October 9-10 and of course I'll be there as well. I look forward to seeing many old friends over then next couple of weeks!

After a week of travel and taping episodes for the 2022 season of PBS' Antiques Roadshow, I'm back in Nashville and working on website updates for the next few days. I hope you are enjoying your Labor Day Weekend and relaxing a little. Of late the news has been mostly bad, with natural disasters, increases in COVID cases and hospitalizations and Afghanistan all filling the headlines. Sometimes it is best to turn off the news and just decompress. The month of September will be extremely busy for me, with the big York Antique Arms Show in the middle of the month, held in conjunction with the Ohio Valley Military Society's MAX Military Show. Show dates for both events, both held at the York, PA fairgrounds, will be Friday & Saturday September 17 & 18. The following weekend it looks like the "Chicago" Civil War Show will return to the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton, IL. I look forward to doing this show again which has been cancelled  several times over the last 18 months due to COVID. October will be busy as well, so keep checking back for updates. In the meantime, sit back, relax and enjoy the new items that I will be listing over the next few days.

08/22/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #46

Once again it's been a while since I posted a news & travel update. I'm actually back in Nashville for about a week and most of that time will be spent updating the website, shipping items and just plain getting caught up. I'll be gone the last couple of days of August and most of the first week of September for an Antiques Roadshow taping in New Hampshire, assuming the storm this weekend does not damage the venue or cause other problems that might affect the taping. As far as collector shows, the only one I'll be attending in September is the big York Antique Arms Show, which will be held at the York Fairgrounds in conjunction with the Ohio Valley Military Society's MAX Military Show. That should be an impressive weekend of fine military collectibles and antique arms. The show will be Friday September 17 and Saturday September 18, fallowing the Show of Shows schedule with a Thursday set up and public hours on Friday & Saturday, without a Sunday selling day. I'll have a dozen tables there, so there will be a lot of new material out for sale. Website updates have already started and as before I've concentrated on handguns as they are smaller and easier to photograph quickly, making the best use of available time. Later this week I'll try to do some long arm updates. I'll also try to stock pile some photos so I can do at least some updating while I'm traveling. In the meantime, sit back, relax and enjoy looking at the new inventory over the next few days.

08/11/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #45

It's been a while since I have done a news update, primarily because I've been on the road for most of the last three weeks. I want to thank all of you who came out to the Doswell, VA (Richmond) North-South Trader National Civil War Show - it was a big success all the way around. Likewise the big Ohio Valley Military Society "Show of Shows" in Louisville the following week was a big success as well. I spent a few days after the SOS Show appraising a large collection and only got back to Nashville a couple of days ago. Since I've been home I've gotten caught up on shipping items and have been working diligently on updating the website. I'm sure you've noticed some new items and more will be listed over the next couple of day before I'm off on the road again. Next week I'll be off to do some consulting and appraising and will then travel to Connecticut to film a new episode of Antiques Roadshow, which will air in 2022. From Connecticut I'll head south to Marietta, GA for the big North Georgia Relic Hunter's Association Show, which will be held at the Cobb Civic Center in Marietta Saturday August 14 & Sunday August 15. Then it's back to Nashville for a couple of weeks before I head out for another Antiques Roadshow taping. So, I'll try to get as many new items on the site as I can over the next couple of days before I have to head out again. They will probably all be handguns, as I can photograph them more quickly than long arms and just the set up to photograph long arms takes quite a bit of time. So, if you want to see my new long arms before they make it to the sight, you'll have to come out to the Marietta Show. As I noted before, I have a lot of new, fresh merchandise but what I don't have is clone or a twin to do the work. This is a one man operation, so when I'm out of town it's very difficult to do any website updates, unless I already have some items photographed. Thanks for the business and support. If you can make it to Marietta in a couple of weeks, it is certainly worth attending that show.

07/11/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #44

I'm back from a long week on the road, primarily consulting, but also from looking at collections. I have about 150 new firearms that I just picked up and am in the  process of getting into my inventory system and tagging. Since I have to leave town on Wednesday, I'm not sure I'll have time to add any new items to the site before I go. Between going through the guns and catching up on shipping, the usual paperwork of running a business, ect. I am simply swamped!

This weekend,  Saturday July 17th (9am-5pm) and Sunday July 18th (9am-2pm) I'll be at the big National Civil War Show that used to be held in Richmond, VA but will now be at the Meadow Event Park in Doswell, VA, between Fredericksburg and Richmond. It looks like the new facility will be a big improvement over the old raceway building! This will be the first chance for everyone to see the 150 or so guns that I picked last week, so it will certainly be worth the trip. I'll have 10 tables and I'm not sure that will be enough!

Next week after that it's off to Louisville for the rescheduled Ohio Valley Military Society's "Show of Shows" at the KY Fair Expo. We'll be in the North Hall, at the far end of the South Wing complex, near Freedom Hall. As most of you know, that show has unconventional days and hours, with Thursday July 22 reserved to OVMS members only from 12 Noon to 5pm and with general public hours on Friday July 23 from 9am-5pm and Saturday July 24 from 9am-3pm. Again, expect to see lots of fresh, new items.

07/01/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #43

I hope all of the new items that I have been adding recently have been of interest to everyone. I'll try to continue with updates over the July 4th weekend. While we are on the subject, please take some time this weekend to reflect on our nation's birth, our freedoms and the fact that freedom is not free. I'll be on the road all of next week, 7/5 through 7/11 doing some consulting, appraising and looking at a large collection of fine arms. The following week I'll be off to the big National Civil War Show that used to be held in Richmond, VA but will now be at the Meadow Event Park in Doswell, VA, between Fredericksburg and Richmond. If the website for the venue is any indication, this will be a major improvement over the Richmond Raceway Complex where the show has been held for the last few years. Not only is the Virginia State Fair held here, but it is also the birthplace of Triple Crown winner Secretariet.  The dates for the "Richmond" Show are Saturday July 17th 9am-5pm and Sunday July 18th 9am-2pm. The week after that it's off to Louisville for the rescheduled Ohio Valley Military Society's "Show of Shows" at the KY Fair Expo. Between the collection I hope to pick up next week and the items that I simply have not had time to list, there will be a LOT of fresh merchandise available from me at these shows, so if you are in the region it will be worth coming out to see all the new items I have. I hope to see some of you at one of these shows!

6/24/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #42

First, after the run of shows I just did in Ohio and Virginia I am tempted to drop the "Covid Update" header for my updates. Based upon what I saw over the past couple of weeks, the country is rapidly returning to an essentially normal condition in terms of large gatherings, events, etc. If the radio ads for major arena and coliseum concert tours that will be coming to a venue near you in the summer and fall are any indication, even the live music and touring industry is on the road to recovery. As a 20-year veteran of that industry, it was clear as things got more and more restrictive last year that the live event segment of the economy would be one of the last to return to normal. With such luminaries as Jimmy Buffett and Elton John back on the road in 2021, I can say that the end of Covid restrictions are in sight.

All that said, I'm back from a long run and as always have a lot of fresh merchandise to put on the website. I'll be working on that for the next couple of weeks and hope to have some new items listed by tomorrow afternoon. I'll try to keep at it so at least one or two new items pop up on a daily basis while I'm in town. So, as always, keep checking back, there is a lot of new stuff on the way!

6/03/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #41

If you've been paying attention to the site over the last week or so you've seen a lot of new items have been added and in many cases they are selling as quickly as they are listed. So, all I can say if you missed something you wanted is to check back often. I also want to remind everyone that I'll be at the Ohio Valley Military Show (OVMS) in Wilmington, OH next week, Friday 6/11 and Saturday 6/12. From there I'll be heading to Northern Virginia for the big Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA Friday 6/18-Sunday 6/20. While I'm on the road, it is for all practical purposes to ship anything more complicated than one of the books I sell, so if you are thinking about a purchase, please make it so I can ship no later than Wednesday morning 6/9, because once I start packing it is hard to find something that might be buried in the belly of the van. Any orders placed later than 6/9 will not be able to ship until I am back from that roughly 2-week run of shows. Keep checking back, lots of new stuff is still on the way!

5/27/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #40

I'm back in Nashville for the next couple of weeks to concentrate on adding new items to the website. Today I'm catching up on shipping and paperwork and hope to start adding new items by sometime tomorrow. The next shows I will be attending will be in mid-June. They will be the Ohio Valley Military Society Show at the Robert's Center in Wilmington, OH on Friday & Saturday June 11-12, followed by the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA Friday-Sunday June 18-20. I hope to see some of you there.

As we enter the Memorial Day Weekend holiday, I would hope that everyone will take some time to reflect upon our freedoms in the country and the men and women who gave the last full measure of devotion in defense of those freedoms.

5/18/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #39

Last week's impromptu trip to look at a collection was incredibly fruitful, and I acquired some great stuff. I'll be working on posting things over the next few weeks. Since I got back I've been working on the photography of many of the items so that I can post new items as I continue to travel. I'll be gone from Wednesday 5/19 through Thursday 5/27 on an appraisal trip and for some work associated with my consulting position with Cowan's Auctions. While I am traveling I will try to add an item or two every day or so, to get many of the new pieces listed for everyone to see. I had intended to be further ahead of the game with more new items already on the site, but I received the COVID vaccine on Friday and generally felt terrible on Saturday and Sunday, limiting my ability to get much accomplished. It has become readily apparent that the one way we will be able to  return to any semblance of normalcy in terms of travel, shows, etc is for the majority of us to get the vaccine. I'm not pro-vaccine or anti-vaccine, just resigned to the fact that for me to continue to travel easily and visit with many customers, clients and consignors who are of advanced age, the vaccine was a necessary step to keep moving forward. Your mileage may vary.....

5/09/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #38

Happy Mother's Day. So much for the "best laid plans of mice and men..." I had intended to be home, doing nothing but adding new items to the site for the next couple of weeks, but that didn't work out. I'll be out of town for the next 3-4 days to look at a large collection and hope to be back at adding new items by the middle or end of next week. In the meantime I did get a few new thing listed and I'm excited about some of the potentially new things I'll be getting. With any luck I'll be back to updates on Wednesday or Thursday, May 12 or 13. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and tell mom you love her!

5/07/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #37

It's been a few weeks since I have written an update, but by the same token its been that long since I have been off the road! I want to thank everyone who came out to the series of shows I have just returned from. They were all very successful, both in terms of buying and selling. Over the next couple of weeks I have a lot of work to do, adding a large number of great new items to the web site. The first new item has already been listed and I would expect one or two new pieces to be added about daily through the next week or two, with the possibility that even more will be listed. The biggest slow down is photography and writing the detailed descriptions. I am very pleased that I will be able to offer some very scarce items in the new future, as well as some of exceptional quality. Thanks for looking and keep checking back, there will be a lot to see!

4/15/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #36

Thanks to everyone who came out to the big Wanenmacher Gun Show in Tulsa last weekend. It was a huge success. This weekend I'll be at the new Spring Gettysburg Show April 17-18 @ the All Star Event Center. Next week I'll be at the return of the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA April 23-25, which has been unable to happen since last November. The first weekend in May I'll be at the return of the Ohio Civil War Show in Mansfield, OH May 1-2. Obviously I'm on the road for the next few weeks, so I will not be able to update the site. Any purchases made while I am traveling will be shipped when and if I can while traveling. However, large items like muskets cannot be adequately packed and safe shipped from the road, so I won't be able to ship items like that until early May. I hope to see many of you at the shows that are coming up, as in some areas it has been more than a year since we have been able to have a show at that location.

3/23/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #35

Lots of new items are being added to the site this week and next week. Already several edged weapons have been added, ranging from a Confederate Naval Cutlass to WWI and WWII fighting knives. Over the next few days look for more muskets, rifles and handguns to be listed as well. April will be an extremely busy month for me, with shows every weekend. As a quick head's up, right now my schedule is the Tennessee Military Collector's Show in Franklin, TN April 2-3, the big Tulsa Gun Show April 10-11, the new Spring Gettysburg Show April 17-18, the return of the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA April 24-25 and the return of the Ohio Civil War Show in Mansfield, OH May 1-2. That means 5 big shows in 5 weeks and a lot of travel. Hopefully I'll get to see a number of you at one of these shows. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy the new items I'm adding to the site.

3/13/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #34

Well as many of you know the Chantilly show was cancelled for March, which was a rescheduled show from February. They plan to hold on in April, but who knows. I will say that I have a show scheduled for every weekend in April right now, with the Tennessee Military Collectors Show (TMCA) in Franklin, TN on April 2-3, the big Tulsa Gun Show the following week April 10-11, the new Spring Gettysburg Show after that on April 17-18 and tentatively Chantilly on April 23-25. The Wheaton Civil War Show that was scheduled for April 24 has been cancelled as they are using the DuPage County Fairgrounds for COVID-19 shots and testing. They hope to hold the fall show there in September.

On another note, I have taken an official part-time position as a Senior Consulting Specialist in the Arms & Armor division of Cowan's Auctions. As many of you know I have been a long time consultant and time to time cataloger for Cowan's. This new arrangement makes the relationship more official and allows me to work as a field representative too, evaluating collections and representing the company at shows from time to time. Nothing will change with College Hill Arsenal and I will continue to bring fine items to the site for sale and will continue to do shows as I have in the past, assuming the shows happen. The only thing you may notice is a little more time on the road, so there will be times where updates are limited, just like when I am traveling to shows. I am looking forward to this new enhanced relationship with Cowan's and will be more than happy to assist any of you who are considering auction as a way to facilitate the sale of your items, rather than sale or consignment to a dealer.

3/01/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #33

Thank you to everyone who came out to the big New Frontier Gun Show in Dallas this past weekend. I've just gotten back to Nashville and I'm trying to get caught up on packing, shipping, paperwork, etc. Tomorrow I'll start photography and then by Wednesday I hope to start adding new items to the site again. There is still a lot of new stuff I have not had time to photograph and describe, so look forward to some cool items. On a show note, right now only the Nation's Guns Show in Chantilly, VA at the Dulles Expo Center is on my schedule for March. I'll update here if that show is cancelled as it was in February. Thanks for checking in and look for some new items by mid-week!

2/22/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #32

Thank you to everyone who came out to the big National Gun Day Show in Louisville this past weekend. Despite all the weather issues in the region a large number of dealers made the show and the attendance by the public was quite good. I acquired a number of new items, but due to the crazy schedule for this week, it will be next week before anything new gets listed on the site. I'll be heading to the big Dallas Firearms Show at the Gaylord Texan Hotel in Grapevine, TX on Wednesday. That show will be a "Vegas Show" type event and will be open to the public three days, Friday-Sunday February 26-28. Today was filled with packing, shipping and all of the paperwork of running a business and tomorrow I'll be tied up doing more of the same. If you are in the Dallas area, I hope you can make it out to the show this weekend, it should be a good one!

2/15/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #31

Thank you to everyone who came out to the South Carolina Arms Collectors Association Show this past weekend. Despite the inclement weather in the Nashville area, I did manage to get home last night, but that included driving the last 30 miles on secondary roads as I-24 from Murfreesboro to Nashville was a sheet of ice. It took nearly 2 hours to travel those last 30 miles. Right now there is a 1/2" sheet of ice on our hill, so it will be a day or two before I'll be able to venture out, ship items, etc.

Assuming they get the roads relatively clear in the next couple of days, I'll be at the big National Gun Day Show in Louisville this weekend. The show will be held in North Wing of the KY Fair Expo Center Saturday & Sunday February 20-21.  As a reminder the week after that I'll be at the new Dallas Firearms Show at the big Gaylord Texan Hotel in Grapevine, TX. That show will be a "Vegas Show" type event and will be open to the public three days, Friday-Sunday February 26-28. I'll be traveling and doing shows most of the balance of this month so please be patient when waiting for a reply to an email or a phone call. Thank you for your continued support. I hope to see you at some of the upcoming shows.

2/08/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #30

As I sort of expected, the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA for this weekend February 12-14 has been postponed due to Virginia state COVID restrictions. The show has been rescheduled for March 12-14.  So, dropping back and punting I have made reservations for a return appearance at the South Carolina Arms Collectors Association Show that will be held this weekend, February 13-14 at the Convention Center in Greenville, SC. It is a mostly modern gun show but was well attended and I know there are a number of serious collectors in the area. Come by and say "Hi" if you get a chance either Saturday or Sunday. The following weekend I'll be at the big National Gun Day Show in Louisville, held in North Wing of the KY Fair Expo Center. That will be Saturday & Sunday February 20-21.  The last weekend of the month will be the new, big Dallas show at the big Gaylord Texan Hotel in Grapevine, TX. That show will be a Vegas Show type event and will be open to the public three days, Friday-Sunday February 26-28. I'll be traveling and doing shows most of the balance of this month so please be patient when waiting for a reply to an email or a phone call. 2/01/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #29

Thank you to everyone who came out to the big annual Chickamauga Civil War Show in Dalton, GA this past weekend. The crowd was good and I managed to buy some good new items as well as sell a number of items. I had the opportunity to meet a couple of famous collectors of history as the show and spent time talking with Jack Blades of the bands Night Ranger and Damn Yankees and John Schneider who has had a very successful career in country music but who is best know as "Bo Duke" on the Dukes of Hazzard. In both cases we spoke about some mutual friends from my days of being in the touring music industry.

February is shaping up to be quite a busy month. So far, the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA is still tentatively a "go", so if it happens I'll be at the show at the Dulles Expo Center February 12-14. The following weekend will be the big National Gun Day Show in Louisville, held in North Wing of the KY Fair Expo Center. That show will be February 20-21. As I've mentioned before, the last weekend of the month will be the new, big Dallas show at the big Gaylord Texan Hotel in Grapevine, TX. That show will be a Vegas Show type event and will be open to the public three days, Friday-Sunday February 26-28. Between those three shows, and searching for collections, it looks like I'll be spending most of February on the road and will probably put between 3,000 and 5,000 miles on the van this month! Since I will be gone so much this month, I will try to do a number of site updates and add as much new inventory to the site over the next week or so. Thank you for your continued support. I hope to see you at some of the upcoming shows.

1/25/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #28

This weekend the annual Chickamauga Civil War Show in Dalton, GA will take place at the large North West Georgia Convention Center, located at Exit 333 off I-75. This is one of the best Civil War shows of the year and may hold the distinction of being the only show that occurred in BOTH 2020 and 2021, as it was held prior to all the lockdowns started last year and has been cleared to take place this weekend. Show dates are Saturday & Sunday January 30 & 31. I've added some tables, so I'll have seven 8-foot tables, or 56-feet, of fine antique arms on display. Plenty of fresh items will be displayed as well as most of the inventory from the website. One nice thing is that for years this show was held on Super Bowl Weekend, which made it hard for many people to attend on Sunday. This year the show is the weekend before the Super Bowl, so there is no reason not to come by Sunday if your Saturday is too busy! Due to time and schedule constraints this week and spending this past weekend on the road looking at a collection, I'm not sure I will be able to update the site much before the show. As a reminder, I am very excited about a new show that will held at the end of February in Dallas at the Gaylord Texan Hotel. For those of you who remember the old C.A.D.A. Show that was held at Opryland in Nashville about 20 years ago, this will be very similar and has the potential to be a great show. With the big Las Vegas Antique Arms Show being cancelled for January and the Maryland Arms Collectors "Baltimore Show" being cancelled for March, this new Dallas Show might well fill a very important void in the 2021 show calendar. I will keep you updated. I hope to see you in Dalton this weekend!

1/9/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #27

The website credit card portal is back up and running with some new high-end security on the backside to prevent bots from trying to run stolen cards. As before, my customers have never been at risk, but these enhancements will help prevent scammers from testing stolen card numbers via this site. As before lots of new inventory is being added regularly and I have a lot of items yet to get on the site. To the best of my knowledge the Dalton, GA Civil War Show is still a "go" for the last weekend of January and I am excited about a new show that will be started at the end of February in Dallas at the Gaylord Texan Hotel. For those of you who remember the old C.A.D.A. Show that was held at Opryland in Nashville about 20 years ago, this will be very similar and has the potential to be a great show. 1/6/21   COVID-19 UPDATE #26

I hope that everyone had a Happy New Year. Let us all hope that 2021 is an improvement over 2020.l Due to an internet bot attack on the site that was testing stolen credit card numbers, we have temporarily disabled our on-line credit card processing terminal. This attack did not in any way compromise any customer information, rather the bot was testing stolen card numbers in an attempt to get them to process. We will be installing stronger Captcha style security on the check out page to make it harder for a bot to use our site to test stolen cards, but sadly the advances in artificial intelligence have made the bots more and more capable to getting past security features and appearing to be real people. For the time being if you want to place an order please call me. I can still process a card manually, but the web terminal is disabled.

Lots of new items are being listed and will continue to be added over the rest of the month. Right now the Dalton Civil War Show is still on the schedule for the last weekend in January, so if you can attend that show, we look forward to seeing you there January 30-31. Stay safe and healthy and Happy New Year.

I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas yesterday and is continuing to enjoy the holiday season, no matter what you celebrate. As many of you know a car (RV) bomb was detonated in downtown Nashville yesterday morning at 2nd & Commerce Street. We are many miles from the blast area and were not directly affected. However, the blast took out a large amount of AT&T infrastructure and has had a major impact on their service. As a result, my business phone (which is a cell phone) is not currently operational in the Nashville area. I'm not sure when service will be restored locally, but for the time being if you want to touch base, please use email. You can reach me at tim@collegehillarsenal.com or use the form on the web site. 12/23/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #24

Thank you to those who came out to the SCACA Show in Greenville, SC this past weekend. It was a good show and well attended. As noted in the Shows list, Chantilly has been cancelled for New Years weekend, so right now the first show on my itinerary for 2021 is the bid Chickamauga Civil War Show in Dalton, GA the last weekend in January, 1/30-1/31.

As I have mentioned before, I've been handling some appraisal work that is time sensitive and has to be in before the end of the year, so that has kept me from doing as many site updates as I would have liked to. I also have a collection pick up to do the weekend after Christmas, plus all of the things that go on with family around the holiday season. I do have a large number of items to add to the web site and I will try to do some this week and more over the coming weeks, so expect a lot of fresh items to be offered over the next month or so.

I wish everyone a safe, happy and healthy holiday season with a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah and Happy New Year, as well as wonderful celebrations for any other holidays you may also celebrate. I sincerely hope that 2021 will be better year for everyone and that by the spring I can stop doing COVID-19 updates!

12/09/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #23

I'm back from more appraisal work and will be in the office through the end of the weekend. I will be out of town for the week of Monday December 14 through the following Monday December 21. During that time I will not be able to ship any purchases. It is worth noting that for a number of reasons, ranging from COVID-19, the holiday shipping season and the preparation for widespread distribution of the new COVID vaccine, none of the major shippers are coming close to delivering anything on schedule. In some cases Priority Mail packages are taking 2 weeks or more. UPS is no favorite of mine due to their total destruction of a Winchester Model 1876 about 10 years ago, and even Fed Ex is not guaranteeing delivery of overnight express packages due to the strain on their system. So, if you were thinking about ordering something for Christmas, now is your last chance or their is no chance it will arrive in time for the holidays. Even if I ship it immediately, I cannot guarantee it will get their in time, as once it is in the hands of the shippers I have no control any more.

Don't forget that I will be at the South Carolina Arms Collectors Association Show in Greenville, SC next weekend, right before Christmas. That show will be held December 19-20 at the Greenville Convention Center. As with other shows lately, the venue is huge and has provided a gigantic amount of space to allow for social distancing to help make this as safe as possible for everyone; vendors and customers both.

Stay safe and healthy and I will continue to keep you updated as to my what is going on in terms of shows, web updates, collections and new inventory.

12/05/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #22

I'm back from the appraisal I was working on earlier in the week and have managed to update the site with some new items and will try to get a couple more listed in the next day or two. However, I will be gone the first part of this coming week as well. Again, appraisals and consultations are coming fast and furious and are taking a lot of time away from photography, descriptions and web site updates. I am sorry about that, but most of the appraisals are estate related and have become very time sensitive at the year is winding to a close.

Another reminder that I will be at the South Carolina Arms Collectors Association Show in Greenville, SC the weekend before Christmas. That show will be held December 19-20 at the Greenville Convention Center. As with other shows lately, the venue is huge and has provided a gigantic amount of space to allow for social distancing to help make this as safe as possible for everyone; vendors and customers both.

11/30/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #21

The Tennessee Military Collector's Show this past weekend was a resounding success. Expanded space for the show allowed for social distancing and masks were required. Compliance was very good. I have no desire to get into the pro-mask or anti-mask argument. It was a requirement of the county, the facility and by default, the show. If we want our hobby to continue during this time, we will have to make some concessions or there will be no shows at all.

I'll be gone most of this week for a major appraisal for an estate. Any orders that are placed while I am gone will ship as soon as I am back, possibly as early as Friday 12/4. I appreciate your patience while I am out of town. As a result of the trip web site updates will probably not occur while I am gone either.

Just a reminder, I'll be at the South Carolina Arms Collectors Association Show in Greenville, SC the weekend before Christmas. That show will be on December 19-20 at the Greenville Convention Center. Again, the venue has provided a huge amount of space to allow for social distancing.

I'll keep trying to update the site with new items, between the holidays, this last show of the year, and my travel schedule for appraisals and other related work.

Stay safe and healthy and I will keep you updated as to what is going on with my travels and the website, and especially regarding what shows are still happening.

11/22/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #20

SHOW UPDATE: Well as I anticipated the Chantilly Show was cancelled for this weekend, unfortunately not until about two hours before set up, so I got to drive 1,200 miles for nothing. On a brighter note, I did do some purchasing along the way and have acquired a small rifle collection, which I will try to start listing the week after Thanksgiving. Right now I'll concentrate on listing a small number of newly acquired handguns in the days leading up to Thanksgiving. Also, the Tennessee Military Collector's Show is still a "GO" the Friday-Saturday after Thanksgiving. I'v also agreed to do the South Carolina Arms Collectors Show in Greenville, SC the weekend before Christmas. That show will be on December 19-20 at the Greenville Convention Center. I'll keep trying to update the site with new items, between the holidays, the few shows, and my travel schedule for appraisals and other related work.

Stay safe and healthy and I will keep you updated as to my success and regarding what shows are still happening.

11/13/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #19

SHOW UPDATE: As many of you know the big Tulsa Arms Collector's Show was cancelled this week, only days before it was to happen. With the increase of COVID-19 cases across the country and the enacting of new local and state Emergency Orders, I expect more shows to be cancelled in the near future. While as of this writing the big Nation's Guns Show in Chantilly, VA is still "on", I expect the new executive order in Virginia today will end of cancelling that show as well. I will move forward as if it is happening and if it does I will be there, but the outlook is grim. On a brighter note, the Tennessee Military Collector's Show is still a "GO" the Friday-Saturday after Thanksgiving. That may be the last show for the year. With the lack of shows I am working harder than ever to try to find new inventory and will be gone most of the coming week in search of new items, with the hope that after making some purchases I'll be heading to Chantilly, we shall see.

Stay safe and healthy and I will keep you updated as to my success and regarding what shows are still happening.

10/28/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #18

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Fall Gettysburg show last weekend. It was a great show with lots of good dealers and a nice crowd. Everything was handled very safely and all steps were taken to keep everyone safe.

INVENTORY UPDATE: I have picked up a large number of new items and will be working to get them listed on the site over the next couple of weeks. Keep checking back to see new stuff. Unless something changes, I'll be working on the site and adding new items for the next two weeks, so there should be a lot of cool stuff to see. I'm working on getting caught up from being gone for a week and I am also catching up on shipping. Expect new items to start appearing by Thursday afternoon or Friday morning.

SHOW UPDATE: As of right now the big Tulsa Arms Collector's Show is still on track to take place on November 14 & 15, with another big Nation's Guns Show in Chantilly, VA the following weekend and the Tennessee Military Collector's Show the Friday-Saturday after Thanksgiving. November is shaping up to be busy and a lot more like "normal" than the rest of the year has been since mid-March!

All of these shows are being held with the safety of the dealers and public in mind. They are in large buildings, much larger than traditionally necessary for these shows. This allows for much wider aisles, the ability to spread out tables and dealers and is an attempt to provide as much room as possible to allow social distancing. As far as I know, masks will be required at all of the shows and some will certainly be doing temperature checks, at least of the vendors. Hand sanitizing stations should be available as well. All state and local health guidelines will be followed at all of these shows. All of this is to promote safety and health as we try to rebuild the businesses and hobbies that we love so much. Please, if you are sick stay home and don't share what you have with others. Also, if you are in a high risk category, please consider the risks before attending any large gathering.

As before, I hope to see some familiar faces (even if they are masked....) in the coming weeks!

10/09/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #17

Thank you to everyone who came out to the big National Gun Day show in Louisville last weekend. It was a great show and I am really looking forward to the next one in mid-February next year when it will be held in conjunction with the OVMS Show of Shows!

INVENTORY UPDATE: I have picked up a number of new items and am working to get them listed on the site. Keep checking back. I will be heading to Colorado this weekend to pick up some new items that I will start listing when I am back next week. If you order anything over the next few days, understand that I will not be able to ship before the middle of next week, probably Wednesday or Thursday October 14 or 15.

SHOW UPDATE: I'll be at the Fall Gettysburg Show the 24th & 25th of October at the All Star Event Complex. As of right now the big Tulsa Arms Collector's Show is still on track to take place on November 14 & 15, with another Nation's Guns Show in Chantilly the following weekend and the Tennessee Military Collector's Show the Friday-Saturday after Thanksgiving. November is shaping up to be busy and a lot more like "normal" than the rest of the year has been since mid-March!

9/28/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #16

TELEVISION UPDATE: As many of you know, we had to postpone the taping of this year's season of PBS' ANTIQUES ROADSHOW due to the COVID-19 outbreak. However, a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to be involved with a special story taped for the OUTDOOR CHANNEL show SHOOTING USA. The episode is another chapter in their on-going discussion of "History In The Ground" and revolves around an amazing find of a Confederate inventory numbered, state of Georgia imported Pattern 1856 Sergeant's Fusil for India Service that was found in the water in at the Battle of Stones River. Only 800 of these "Georgia Fusils" were acquired by the state of Georgia and today less than 20 of them are known to survive. I served as an historical consultant for the story, was interviewed on camera, provided a non-dug Georgia Fusil for the taping, and provided a lot of back ground on the gun, as well as associated documents. The episode will air on Wednesday September 30 on the OUTDOOR CHANNEL. The episode will air at 8PM Central Time (9PM Eastern) and will re-run that evening at 11PM Central and the next day, October 1 at 2AM Central. I've viewed an advance tape of it and it is very well done and should be worth watching. In the same episode my friend and fellow American Society of Arms Collector's member Garry James will be taking about the famous Walther PPK and it's long time association with the iconic Ian Flemming character, James Bond. Check with your local cable provider to find the actual channel number the OUTDOOR CHANNEL appears on. Check out the show's website at:  http://www.shootingusa.com

INVENTORY UPDATE: I've been on the road for a few days picking up some wonderful new items, including a couple of CS imported Enfields, some wonderful WWII fighting knives and a few other new items. I will try to post some new stuff over the next couple of days before I head off to Louisville for the big gun show this weekend. That brings me to the final point of this update:

SHOW UPDATE: It's Gun Show Time! The big National Gun Day Show will be held in Louisville this weekend, October 3 & 4. The show will be in the huge North Wing of the Kentucky Fair-Expo complex. It should be a great show, so you won't want to miss it. Since I have picked up so much stuff recently and have not had a lot of time for website updates, I will have a lot of fresh material at the show. I'll also be at the Fall Gettysburg Show the 24th & 25th of October at the All Star Event Complex.

All of these shows are being held with the safety of the dealers and public in mind. They are in large buildings, much larger than traditionally necessary for these shows. 9/21/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #15

I want to thank everyone who came out to the show two weeks ago in Corinth, MS and last week in York, PA. I truly appreciate both the dealers and the public that attended the shows. Sales were brisk, as was buying. I will be adding a number of great new items over the next couple of weeks. Already a really fantastic DFC inspected 7.5" Colt Single Action Army Cavalry revolver from 1882 has been listed, as well as an exceptional condition Enfield cartouched Colt Model 1851 Navy. I picked up a wide variety of high quality arms at the two shows and many of them are rare examples. Don't forget that the first week in October will be the big National Gun Day Show in Louisville on October 3 & 4. The show will be in the huge North Wing of the Kentucky Fair-Expo complex. It should be a great show, so you won't want to miss it. I'll also be at the Fall Gettysburg Show the 24th & 25th of October at the All Star Event Complex.

9/07/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #14

SHOWTIME! It looks like finally some of the shows are coming back on-line and the next few weeks will be fairly busy for me. This coming weekend I will be in Corinth, MS at the Crossroads Arena where the WP Rogers SCV Camp will be holding their annual Civil War Show. This is normally an April show, but as we all know things have been delayed and cancelled this year, so we will be having April in September, at least in Corinth. The show is open to the public Saturday Sept. 12 from 9AM-5PM and & Sunday Sept. 13 from 9AM-3PM. A good selection of dealers from throughout the south-east will be there and I'll have a full inventory set up with 64' of relics on (8) 8' tables!

The following week the big National Antique Arms Show will take place in York, PA September 18-19. This show is at the York Fairgrounds and is a Friday & Saturday show. The show will be in the big arena on the fairgrounds. Look for this to be the biggest antique arms show since Las Vegas in February. Think of it as a sort of "Fall Baltimore Show" since the Baltimore Show didn't get to happen this year. On a brighter note I received my table paper work for the 2021 Baltimore Show earlier this week, so it looks like by next spring we will really be getting back to normal!

Finally the first week in October will be the big National Gun Day Show in Louisville on October 3 & 4. The show will be in the huge North Wing of the Kentucky Fair-Expo complex. It should be a great show, so you won't want to miss it.

All of these shows are being held with the safety of the dealers and public in mind. They are in large buildings, much larger than traditionally necessary for these shows. 8/25/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #13
Well, this past weekend at the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly was a busy weekend, particularly in the acquisition of new items. Social distance protocols were in place, attendance in the building was limited and despite all of the special requirements to have the show, everything went smoothly. This bodes well for the other big shows coming up over the next few weeks, including the Antique Arms Show in York, PA September 18-19 and the big National Gun Day Show in Louisville on October 3 & 4. I'll also be at the Civil War Show in Corinth, MS September 12-13. Hopefully some new items will be on the site in a couple of days. I've got things to ship and need to take photographs and write descriptions of the new inventory. I'll try to keep updating inventory so there is always something to look at, expect a lot of new items to show up over the next couple of weeks.

8/15/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #12
I'm back from a successful trip in search of some new inventory and will be adding a number of new items over the next couple of weeks. I will try to get at least 2 or 3 new thing listed before I have to leave town again next Tuesday. I'll be heading to Northern Virginia because it is SHOWTIME! The big Nation's Gun Show at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA will take place this coming weekend; Friday August 21-Sunday August 23. I'll have a lot of new items out at the show, so if you are in the area it would be worth coming by to see some of these items and have a chance to buy them before they make it to the site. On a sadder note, I have received notice that the big Nashville (Franklin) Civil War Show in December has been cancelled for this year. This is because the venue is being used as a COVID-19 testing center. On a brighter note, the big National Gun Day Show will take place in Louisville on October 3 & 4. I'll try to keep updating inventory and the show schedule so there is always something to look at!

8/05/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #11
New item updates will continue on the site through Friday 8/7. I will be out of town from Saturday 8/8 for about a week, and will be traveling in an attempt to obtain new items for inventory and to add to the site. Any purchase made between 8/8 and 8/16 will ship on Monday 8/17 or during that week, upon receipt of payment. Hopefully I'll be able to find some interesting new items for the site. As of today, The Nation's Gun Show is still on the schedule of the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA and hopefully it will take place Friday August 21 through Sunday August 23. If anything changes I will announce it on the site. I really do look forward to seeing many of you who are in the Northern Virginia region at the show that weekend!

8/01/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #10
The "NO SHOWS" 10% off sale is officially over for the time being. After nearly four months of offering this significant discount due to the lack of collector shows, I am ending the sale. Primarily this is due to the difficulty in finding new inventory to offer on the site without the various collector shows as a venue for purchases. I will continue to hunt high and low to bring quality items to market at fair prices. I always want to provide the best value for the money that you spend. That said, a few more new items from a recent collection purchase will be listed over the next couple of weeks. I am always looking to buy collections, so if you are considering selling, I would be more than happy to speak with you. As noted before, I will try to keep the show schedule updated as some shows cancel or reschedule and others are added if they are happening. Enjoy your weekend and enjoy browsing the site.

7/26/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #9
It's been a couple of weeks since my last "news & announcements" update. Events are continuing to be cancelled for later this year. The most recent shows to have their "plugs pulled" have been the North Georgia Relic Hunter's Show in Marietta, GA (August 7-8), the MAX Militaria Show in York, PA (Sept. 17-19) and the Wheaton, IL Civil War Show (Sept. 25-26). Thankfully, the Antique Arms & Military Show being hosted by Steve Sylvia of North-South Trader that was going to run concurrently at the York Fairgrounds with the MAX Show is still on the books and will hopefully be taking place. The July Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA has been rescheduled for August 21-23 and is still tentatively going to happen. Other than those, it looks like the big National Gun Day Show in Louisville, KY the first weekend in October is the next big event on the horizon. I'll try to keep the Show Schedule page up to date with cancellations and rescheduling of various shows and I will do my best to make sure it is accurate.

I did attend the summer OVMS Show in Wilmington, OH this weekend and although the crowd was soft, I was able to buy and sell some items. I also purchased a collection of about a dozen Civil War period import arms, including several Confederate imported Enfield Rifle Muskets. None are JS/Anchor marked guns with inventory numbers, but all are good examples of other CS inspection marks. I'll be listing those starting about the middle of next week and over the next couple of weeks. Some other fresh goodies will be listed in the next couple of weeks as well.

I will be continuing the "NO SHOWS" COVID-19 10% discount sale through the end of July, but I will probably have to end the sale at the end of the month due to a variety of factors. If there is something you were thinking about buying, you might want to before the discount code is not longer valid.

Thank you for your support and business. I hope to see many of you in the near future as the shows start to come back on line.

7/13/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #8
It's been a while since I have done a "news & announcements" update - with most events cancelled and most of us staying close to home, there has not been much to report. However, this past weekend I did attend a modern gun show in Asheville, NC. The show was handled safely with increased space between vendors to accommodate "social distancing", limiting of total number of people in the hall at any one time, use of masks and hand sanitizer as appropriate, and temperature checks as required. While the masks were a little unnerving in a gun show setting, local health department and state protocols were followed. This resulted in a safe show for everyone. It was good to get back out and see some familiar faces. It looks like the OVMS (Ohio Valley Military Society) show in Wilmington, OH will take place in less than two weeks: Friday July 24 and Saturday July 25. As in Asheville, a variety of measures are in place to make sure it is a safe show for everyone. If you are in the region, please come by the show and have a good time!

This brings up the "No Shows" COVID-19 discount special that I have been running on the web site. As of right now, that special will end on July 31. If you are thinking of taking advantage of the discount, you need to do it before then. With the shows starting up again, I intend to be back on the road as local and regional restrictions permit and as a result, the special "No Shows" sale will come to an end. Right now it looks like August may be pretty busy with as many as 3 shows on the schedule for me.

Thank you for your business and support. It looks like there may be light at the end of the tunnel as we turn things around and head back to the old normal, as the "new normal" does not seem to be very popular with most people!

6/2/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #7
I've just returned from a little buying trip and will be adding a lot of new items later this week. A handful of nice bayonets, some more great and rare handguns and a couple of cool long guns will be added before the end of the week. I will be out of pocket all day on Wednesday June 3 doing a TV taping for the Outdoor Channel's Shooting USA. We'll be doing a couple of segments, one discussing the 800 Pattern 1856 Sergeant's Fusils for India Service that were purchased by the state of Georgia during the Civil War, and will be looking at an excavated examples with great Battle of Stones River association, as well as non-dug example. We will also be doing another segment regarding Civil War and antique arms collecting. When I know when these segments will air, I will be sure to post the information here. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy the new stuff I'll be adding. Some of the bayonets will be pretty darn cool!

5/27/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #6

As things continue to slowly "open up" around the country we apparently remain at least a month away from any shows happening. The National Gun Day Show at Chantilly, VA in mid-June and the Gettysburg Civil War Show scheduled for the last weekend in June are the most recent victims of gubernatorial executive orders that are prohibiting large gatherings. Hopefully by mid-July we will be able to gather in groups again and we will be able to have the North-South Trader Civil War Show in Richmond July 18-19 and the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA the following weekend. I'll keep you posted as we get closer to the events.

Due to the continuing cancellation and postponement of our shows, I will be continuing the NO SHOWS, 10% off web site sale through the end of June. Don't forget to use the instructions at the top of this page so you can apply the coupon code at check out for your discount. I will continue to do as much as I can to find new inventory for the web site and will continue to try to bring you the finest and most desirable antique arms and military items that I can bring to market.

Please take care of yourselves, stay healthy and stay safe over the next few weeks as this pandemic winds down. I hope to see many of you at a show this summer.

5/11/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #5

Things are slowly starting to "open up" in many states, but we are still probably at least several weeks (or months) away from any potential gun or military shows. As a result, we are continuing our NO SHOWS, 10% off web site sale through the end of May and may extend it into June if the shows don't start up by then. The more the coupon code gets used, the longer I'll probably leave it available. This allows those of you who are shopping from the safety of your home on the internet to scratch your "gun show" itch. I have a lot of wonderful new items to list, so keep checking back - it will be worth your time! As I mentioned in my last message, I have reduced the prices on a number of older items and you can find them in the "SALE" category. 4/22/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #4

There finally appears to be some light at the end of the tunnel with the Corona Virus pandemic. Over the next couple of weeks it looks like some states will start to ease their restrictions on businesses and travel, allowing us to eventually head back to normal. Many states have established May 1 as their target date to start the process of slowly "opening" for business. I doubt the social distancing and group gathering restrictions will be lifted any time soon, so I doubt we will be having any shows until at least late June or July. I hope I am wrong, but taking this "return to normal" slowly is probably prudent.

As a result we are continuing our NO SHOWS, 10% off web site sale through at least mid-May and possibly until June. The more you guys make use of the coupon code, the longer I'll probably leave it in use. This allows those of you who are shopping from the safety of your home on the internet to scratch your "gun show" itch. I intend to continue adding new items to the site on a regular basis as well, so there will regularly be something new to look at. I also wanted to let you know that I have reduced the prices on a number of older items and you can find them in the "SALE" category. These "sale" items are also eligible for the 10% off, NO SHOWS coupon code at check out, so you can buy them even cheaper. In some cases, that final price will be below my cost. My loss is your gain, and you can pretend you haggled with me to get a great deal at a show! To use the coupon click "View Cart" before you start the check out process and enter the code NO SHOWS (two words, all capitals) in the couple code field and the 10% discount will be applied to all merchandise in your cart when you go through the check out process.

Please take care of yourselves, stay healthy and stay safe over the next few weeks as this pandemic winds down. I hope to see many of you at a show this summer; possibly the summer Gettysburg show, the summer Richmond show or a summer Chantilly show!

4/05/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #3

Not much has changed over the last week or so, in terms of everyone staying "safer at home" other than many of us are starting to go a little crazy from being penned in. Of course the number of confirmed cases of the virus has increased and sadly, so has the number of deaths. There is some light at the end of the tunnel with most sources feeling that the peak will be in the next 7-14 days and after that things will start to slow down, allowing us to eventually head back to normal.

Since many of you are shopping from the safety of your home on the internet, scratching your collecting itch via mail order, I wanted to let you know that I am continuing to add new items to the site on a regular basis, so there is almost always something new to look at. I also wanted to let you know that I have reduced the prices on a number of items and you can find them in the "SALE" category. These items are also eligible for the 10% off, NO SHOWS coupon code at check out, so you can buy them even cheaper. In some cases, that final price will be below my cost. My loss is your gain, and you can pretend you haggled with me to get a great deal at a show!

3/30/20   COVID-19 UPDATE #2

While we continue stay "safer at home" in Tennessee and throughout most of the country, I hope that all of you and your families remain safe and healthy. Thankfully, the current virus outbreak has not affected myself or anyone in my family at this time.

As we noted before, we have updated the website with a larger photo viewing window and we continue to add a number of new items to the site on a regular basis, almost daily. We will continue our 10% discount for purchases through the web site, by using the NO SHOWS code in the coupon section of the shopping cart at checkout. Please note that this also includes items that are already in the "Sale" section of the site and that are already discounted. In some cases, purchasing items that were already discounted with the additional 10% off "No Shows" discount may price the item below my cost. That will be to your benefit. As always, do not hesitate to call or email if you have any questions.

Over the next few weeks please take care of yourselves, stay healthy and stay safe, and I hope to see many of you at a show this summer!

3/16/20   COVID-19 UPDATE

Like every business in America, we are concentrating to keeping everyone safe and reducing the chance of spread of the COVID-19 virus. As many of you know, many of the major antique arms & guns shows are being cancelled out an abundance of caution and to help reduce the chance for the spread of the virus. This is particularly important as many of the dealers and collectors in our hobby are in the demographic most likely to be adversely effected or to have complications should they catch the virus.

During this time, we want all of our customers to be able to view items and make purchases as easily as possible. To that end we have updated the photo windows of the web site so that when you click on a photo, the image will be larger than it was before. We have also created a coupon discount code that will be usable for the next couple of weeks. When you select an item or items to put in your cart to purchase and you view your cart, you will see the option to enter a coupon code. If you enter the code NO SHOWS (all capitals, two words) you will receive a 10% discount on your purchase (not counting shipping). There is no limit or restriction as to how often you use the code or how many items you apply it to. However, the code and discount can only be used for items purchased through the web based shopping cart that are paid for in full by either credit card or by mailing payment. This discount is not applicable to layaway items. If you have any difficulty using the code, reach out to us via email or telephone.

As many of you will be working remotely, this is a great chance to have a virtual arms show, get a great discount and have your new purchase in your hands in just a few days. Hopefully this will all pass in the next few weeks and things will be back to normal by sometime in May or June. However, for the time being, enjoy the discount and enjoy the virtual relic show. I hope to add items on an almost daily basis to make it worth coming back and checking the inventory on a regular basis.

Take care of yourselves, stay healthy and stay safe, and I hope to see many of you at a show in the near future!

I'm back after roughly three weeks on the road and have returned to a city ripped asunder by a massive tornado. While our home and neighborhood were spared by the grace of God, much of Nashville experienced damage ranging from minor to absolutely devastating. Please keep the people of Nashville and Middle Tennessee in your prayers over the coming days and weeks as they rebuild our city.

After all this time on the road, I have a large number of new items to share with my customers. I've already got some posted, and many more will be coming over the next few days. Don't forget the big Maryland Arms Collectors Association Show is coming up at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, MD. The show will be Saturday and Sunday March 21-21 and my tables are N-7 and N-8. Please come by the show if you can, it is one of the biggest and best antique arms shows in the country.

It's almost SHOWTIME - February is a crazy busy month for shows. We'll kick off this extremely busy month this weekend at the big Chickamauga Civil War Show at the Dalton Convention Center (formerly the Northwest Georgia Trade Center) in Dalton, GA. Show hours are Saturday February 1 from 9AM-5PM and Sunday February 2 from 9AM-3PM. Next week I'll be in town, working on the web site, shipping orders, etc. Then its three straight weeks of on the road and busy, busy, busy! I'll be at the Nation's Gun Show at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA over Valentines Day weekend. That show is Friday-Sunday February 14-16. The following week I'll be in Louisville for the huge Ohio Valley Military Society Show of Shows and the National Gun Day gun show. I'll be at S.O.S. on Thursday 2/20 and part of Friday 2/21. I'll be with Cliff Sophia of CS Arms at S.O.S. Then I'll be at the gun show Friday 2/21-Sunday 2/23. Both shows are in the massive Kentucky State Fairgrounds Expo complex, all under one roof. From Louisville I have to drive nearly 2,000 miles to get the big Las Vegas Antique Arms Show. I'll be there Friday February 28 through Sunday March 1. Don't expect much in terms of website updates from the middle of the month until we get to March. I'll try to get a number of new items listed next week when I'm back from Dalton. If you are in the Nashville, Chattanooga, Knoxville or greater Atlanta area, the Dalton Show this weekend is no more than 2-3 hours from you and it is certainly worth attending.

Well, we are two weeks into 2020 and I'm ready for a great year of finding and selling great pieces of history. I'm back in town for the next couple of weeks or so, and new items will be listed almost daily. Lots of things need to be added, and there will be a number of very nice longarms, handguns and edged weapons showing up on the site in the coming days. Keep checking back, I started today with a very nice M1854 Austrian Lorenz. Every day will be a new surprise!

Happy New Year! It's hard to believe that 2019 is in the books and 2020 is here. Thanks to everyone who came out the big Nation's Gun Show last weekend in Chantilly, VA. It was a great show all the way around. I'll be on the road the next two weekends. Saturday & Sunday January 4 & 5 I'll be at the gun show in Paducah, KY at the Paducah/McCracken Convention Center. Show hours are 9-5 on Saturday and 9-3 on Sunday. The following weekend I'll be in Dyersburg, TN at the Dyer County Fairgrounds for another gun show, Saturday & Sunday January 11 & 12. Again show hours are 9-5 on Saturday and 9-3 on Sunday. Between these two shows I'll be traveling, doing some consulting and appraising. Shipping for orders placed over the next 10-12 days will begin again on Monday January 13. I'll try to do a couple of new inventory updates while I'm on the road, but that is difficult to do easily. Upon my return I'll be adding a lot of new inventory during the last two weeks of January. I hope the New Year is happy, healthy and profitable for you all and I look forward to seeing many of you at the numerous shows I'll be attending in 2020.

A lot of new items have been added to the site over the last week or so. I'll continue to update this weekend, but will probably add anymore new items as of Monday 12/23/19 until after I'm back from the Nation's Gun Show. Don't forget that I'll be at the show at the Dulles Expo Center on Friday 12/27 through Sunday 12/29. Show hours are 3p-8p on Friday, 9a-5p on Saturday and 10a-5p on Sunday. I have to leave for Chantilly on Christmas Day (that makes me popular at home....) so the last day I can ship orders is Tuesday 12/24 and shipping will resume on Tuesday 12/31. I hope that everyone has a happy holiday season, no matter what you celebrate; Christmas, Hanukkah, etc. Enjoy the time off, the time with family and recharge a little before the New Year begins.

Well the year is winding down and we are all looking forward to the holiday season. Don't forget that collector in your life, the gift of a collectible item is always appreciated under the Christmas tree or for whatever holiday you may celebrate. The big Civil War Show in Franklin last week was very well attended and there was a lot of business going on between both the dealers and the public. The size of the crowd and number of younger attendees certainly warmed my heart and bodes well for the future of our hobby. I have a large amount of new inventory which I will be adding over the next couple of weeks. I've already added three new handguns to the site. Look for even more in the near future. The final show of the year for me is the big The Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA at the Dulles Expo Center. The show will be Friday December 27-Sunday December 29. Show hours are Friday 12/27 3pm-8pm, Saturday 12/28 9am-5pm and Sunday 12/29 9am-5pm. I hope to get an updated 2020 show schedule up on the site in the next couple of days. I will be attending a show in Paducah, KY the first weekend in January, so look for me there if you live in that area.

I wish all of your the most joyful and peaceful of holiday seasons and hope you all have a happy new year.

Next weekend is the big Middle Tennessee Civil War Show (the old "Nashville Civil War Show"). It is the biggest Civil War Show in the country and is true event. The show will be held at the Williamson County Ag-Expo Center. I'll be in my usual location on the back end cap of the first island of tables at the bottom of the main stairs on the main floor. I'll have 40' of items, including a lot of fresh stuff from an old southern collection. Show hours are Saturday 12/6   9am-5pm and Sunday 12/7 9am-3pm.

I hope many of you will be able to attend one of the shows I'll be doing over the next three weeks. I've still got a lot of fresh inventory that has not made it to the web site, so it's worth coming to the show to see what may not have made it to the web yet!

It's been about a month since I wrote an news update, primarily because of my travel schedule. Over the last week or so a number of new items have been added to the website, some of which are rather scarce and desirable pieces. This week I'm off to Northern Virginia for The Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA at the Dulles Expo Center. Show hours are Friday 11/22 3pm-8pm, Saturday 11/23 9am-5pm and Sunday 11/24 9am-5pm. From Chantilly I'll be heading to Atlanta to pick up part of a collection, back to Nashville for Thanksgiving and then to Franklin, TN for the Tennessee Military Collector's Association Show which will be held at the Cool Springs Marriott on "Black Friday" 11/29 Noon-6pm and Saturday 11/30 8am-3pm.

The first weekend in December will be the big Middle Tennessee Civil War Show (the old "Nashville Civil War Show"), which will be held at the Williamson County Ag-Expo Center. I'll be in my usual location on the back end cap of the first island of tables at the bottom of the main stairs on the main floor. After years of only having 3 tables, this year I will finally be able to expand to 5, which means 40' of great Civil War and collectible arms and military items.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the big North Georgia Relic Hunter's Civil War & Antique Arms Show this past weekend. It was a good show. What was not so good was cracking a molar this past weekend. Today the dentist said it was "fractured" and he wasn't touching it, so I'm off to the oral surgeon on Wednesday. Of course it is horribly infected, abscessed, and swollen like crazy. The pain is almost overwhelming, so it will be a couple of days before much happens with the web site. I made sure that things that needed to ship went out today, but since I can't have this tooth cut out until tomorrow, it will be the end of the week before I'm back up and running somewhat normally. The show is at the Cobb County Civic Center and will be held Saturday 8/10 & Sunday 8/11. I hope you can get out and visit. In addition to my regular supply of collectible and antique arms I'll have a small number of Colt Signature Series cased reproduction revolvers. These are not my normal stock in trade and they will be going to shows until they are gone, but won't be listed on the site as this site is for original items only. As usual, this month will be busy, but not at crazy as May was. This weekend, June 8-9, I'll be at the big National Gun Day Show in Louisville, KY. The show will be held in South Wing A of the Kentucky Fair-Expo complex. I've got a lot of new inventory that has not been listed on the web site yet, due to travel and lack of time. If you want to see lots of fresh stuff, come out to the show. I'll have 7 tables (that's 56 feet) of great stuff for sale. Later this month I'll be at the final Antiques Roadshow Season 24 taping for this year. It will be at the Wintertheur Museum in Delaware. However, I'll be working on adding new items all of next week, so lots of fresh stuff should up on the site before I make that trip.

Another long month of travel and shows is almost over, with the big Mansfield, OH Civil War Show, an Antiques Roadshow taping in Sacramento, CA and the big Colorado Gun Collector's Show in Denver, CO all in my rear view mirror. It's hard to believe how many miles I have driven over the last few weeks; about half as many as most people drive in a year! Well, I'm back and web site updates have started. I've got a huge number of new items that I will be trying to photograph, describe and list over the next week or so. The end of the month will be spent at the American Society of Arms Collector's spring meeting in Springfield, MO (5/29-6/1). In June I'll be at the big National Gun Day Show in Louisville, KY (6/8-6/9), which will be held in South Wing A of the Kentucky Fair-Expo complex. Later in the month of June I'll be at the final Antiques Roadshow taping for this year at the Wintertheur Museum in Delaware. For the time being, enjoy the new items that I am adding and look forward to lots of new pieces being added to the site over the next few weeks.

It's been a long and crazy month of April and May looks to be equally busy. I've just returned this morning from an Antiques Roadshow taping in San Antonio, where we received an amazing behind the scenes tour of the Alamo and a chance to view numerous artifacts not on display that are held by the museum there; including a Spanish miquelet lock shotgun captured from Santa Anna at the battle of Cerro Gordo during the Mexican-America War and a Jacob Dickert rifle with nearly iron clad provenance that places it at the Alamo for the 13-day siege that culminated in the battle.

I'm on off Monday April 30 for a three week run of shows, Antiques Roadshow tapings and collection pick ups. The shows are as follows:

Saturday May 4 - Sunday May 5: The Ohio Civil War Show @ The Richland County Fairgrounds in Mansfield, OH. My tables are in the Fairhaven Building.

Saturday May 18 - Sunday May 19: The Colorado Gun Collector's Show @ The Denver Mart in Denver, CO.

Between Mansfield and Denver I'll be making a major collection stop in the west and we will be taping at another Season 24 Antiques Roadshow location in Sacramento, CA on May 13.

While I am on this run there will be few (if any) web site updates. I apologize for this, but the logistics of this trip simply don't allow a lot of down time for the work needed to get new items listed. I will also not be able to ship any orders, so any orders placed during this time will go out around the 23rd of May, after I get back to Nashville. I apologize for the delay, but it is simply too difficult to bring all of the necessary packing supplies on the road and to ship out of town locations. However, if you will be attending either of the shows mentioned, you can pick up your orders at the show, as long I have the item with me, as not everything in inventory always goes out to a show.

If you will be in the Mansfield or Denver area on the appropriate weekends, I hope you can make it out to the shows as both are quality shows with lots of great merchandise for sale.

The "taxman cometh" and April 15th is almost here. If you are looking for somewhere to spend that refund, I'll be listing a wide variety of new items over the next week or so. The first part of next week, we will be filming the first city for Season 24 of Antiques Roadshow in Phoenix, AZ. Next weekend is the big Tennessee Military Collector's Show on Friday & Saturday April 19 & 20, and of course Sunday April 21 is Easter. I'll be working hard to put new stuff on the site this week and while I am traveling for Roadshow, and I'll be at the TMCA Show next weekend. I look forward to seeing you on the road.

Well, it's "Tulsa Time" again, so I'll be heading off to the huge Wanenmacher's Tulsa Gun Show on Wednesday 4/3. The show held in the giant River Spirit Expo on the Tulsa State Fairgrounds complex and is open to the public on Saturday April 6 from 8:00AM to 6:00PM and on Sunday April 7 from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. I'll be in my usual location, upstairs along the rail overlooking the lower level at tables E46-E50. I'll have some additional items across the isle at E51-E52. I've just acquired a large, old time collection of Civil War and British military muskets, as well as some Civil War carbines, so there is a lot of new inventory that I have not been able to get on the web site yet. Come by, say "Hi" and check out all the new stuff. I'll be back from Tulsa on Monday afternoon April 8 and any order placed while I am gone will be shipped at that time. Don't miss the big 4,200+ table show if you are in the area!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the big "Baltimore Show". It was a strong show as always, and while I did not buy quite as much as I had hoped, it was a very successful show. I'm back from my trip to upstate New York and the northeast, with about three dozen new antique firearms and large number of bayonets. I'll be working on listing these items over the next couple of weeks; it's a lot of good stuff. Look for the first of the updates on Tuesday 3/26 with more updates (hopefully daily) through next week, when I head off to the big Wanenmacher's Tulsa Gun Show at the River Spirit Expo. I'll be at my usual location upstairs with my friend Walter Crutcher, at tables E46-E50. I've also made arrangements to use tables E51-E52 across the aisle because I have some many new items to put out. Anyone who ordered an item while I was out of town will be getting an email with the tracking information shortly and your items will go out on 3/26. Thanks so much, keep checking back, as lots of cool stuff is on the way!

SPRING FORWARD! I hope everyone remembered to set their clocks ahead an hour this morning, otherwise you might be late for something today or tomorrow. If you've been keeping up with the site, you'll see lots of new inventory has been listed and more is on the way. Next week I'll be leaving for the big Maryland Arms Collector's Association "Baltimore Show", which will be held at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, MD. The show is held in the Cow Palace building and will be open to the public Saturday March 16 from 9a-5p and Sunday March 17 from 9a-3p. After that show, weather permitting, I'll be heading to upstate New York and a few other places to look at some collections. If all goes well, I'll be coming home from this trip with a huge amount of new inventory. The downside is that I'll probably be gone from this Wednesday 3/13 for about two weeks, until 3/26 or 3/27. As a result, I will not be in a position to ship orders during that time. If you are in the Baltimore area, you need to hit the show next weekend, it is the best antique arms show in the country. You can find me at my usual table location: Row N, Tables 7 & 8.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the two big shows in Louisville last week. It was an exhausting five days of military show and gun show and I'm still trying to recover! I've been getting caught up on shipping and other work, and have started taking photos of the numerous new items that I  acquired at the shows. I've already listed two of the four carbines that I purchased from a collection out near Washington state, and hope to list the others in the next day or two. The new items will be a listed as I have time and range from Civil War carbines to a USMC Raider Stiletto, from an rare & fine Colette Gravity Pistol to a great "Half-Plate" S&W #2 Army that letters to Kittridge & Co in Cincinnati and bears their retailer mark as well. Lots of new stuff will be listed over the next couple of weeks. Don't forget that the big Maryland Arms Collector's Show (aka "The Baltimore Show") is only a couple of weeks away, and will be open to the public on Saturday 3/16 and Sunday 3/17 at the "Cow Palace" building on the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, MD. This about the best antique arms shows in the country and you don't want to miss it. My tables are in Row N and are #7 & #8. I look forward to seeing you there!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA. It was a good show, both buying and selling. With any luck I'll get some of the new items posted in the coming days. It always takes a day or two to get caught up when I've been on the road and it's tax season, so as usual, I'm a little swamped. A really fine Sharps NM1863 Rifle has been added to the site, and I'll try to have some more items added in the next couple of days. Don't forget that the big Ohio Valley Military Collector's Show of Shows is next week in Louisville, KY (2/21-2/23). The show is held in South Wing C of the KY Fair Expo complex. That same weekend (2/23-2/24) will be the big National Gun Day gun show, also held at the KY Fair-Expo, in South Wing A. Two big shows all in one location. I hope to see you there!

Thank you to everyone who came out to the big Chickamauga Civil War Show in Dalton, GA this past weekend. If you were there you know it was a well attended and very busy show. Since I got home Sunday night I've been busy, catching up on shipping and adding a few new items, which you find in the "New Items" section. I'm off to Northern Virginia tomorrow to attend the big Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA at the Dulles Expo Center. The show is open 3P-8P on Friday 2/8, 9A-5P on Saturday 2/9 and 10A-5P on Sunday 2/10. I'll be back at home base late on Monday 2/11 and will try to spend most of next week adding new items to the web site. After that, its the big Show of Shows in Louisville, as well as big National Gun Day show, both held at the KY Fair Expo Complex. Look for more updates next week, and come by the show this weekend if you can!

After a nearly 4,000 mile round trip to the big Las Vegas Antique Arms Show, and some 12 days on the road, I'm back in Nashville - for 24 hours! I'm off to the Chickamauga Civil War Show this weekend, at the NW Georgia Trade Center in Dalton, GA. The show is Saturday February 2 from 9AM-5PM & Sunday February 3 from 9AM to 3PM. While I acquired a number of fine new items at the show in Vegas, I simply won't have time to photograph and describe anything until at least next week. From Dalton, I'll get to go home for about 48 hours, and then I'm off to the Nation's Gun Show in Chantilly, VA for the second weekend of the month. February is crazy busy, with the big OVMS Show of Shows and the National Gun Day shows in Louisville, KY over the 4th weekend of the month. If I have time, I'll try to add an item or two next week before I head off to Chantilly. In the meantime, enjoy the new site and feel free to email or call about the most recent acquisitions.

Vegas Baby! I'm off to the big Las Vegas Antique Arms Show on Friday morning, with some visits to see customers along the way. The show is held in the convention pavilion of the Westgate Hotel & Resort. I'll be set up in my usual location: Section A, Row B, Tables 2-5. My good friend Cliff Sophia from CS Arms in Northern Virginia will  be set up with me as well. The show is open to the public Friday January 25 - Sunday January 27. Dealer set up is on Thursday. Honored Guest passes can be purchased to allow you entry for the entire show, including Thursday. Come by if you can. It is one of the top 3 antique and collectible arms shows in the country. I'll be on the road for this show from Friday 1/18 through Wednesday 1/30. You can still order items from the web site, or by contacting me directly, but shipping will not take place until Thursday 1/31. On Thursday I repack and head to the big Chickamauga Civil War Show in Dalton, GA, which is being held the first weekend of February, only a week after the Las Vegas show. Never hesitate to email or call while I'm on the road, that phone number on the web site goes to my cell, and IF I can answer, I will.

Don't forget, the new season on Antique Roadshow started airing on January 7. Check out the show and look for Arms & Militaria appraisals from myself and my good friends and "stablemates": Joely Bohy (Skinner Auctions), Rafael Eledge (Shiloh Relics) and Jeff Shrader (Advance Guard Militaria). If you get to watch the shows we filmed at Churchill Downs in Louisville, you'll understand the "stablemates" reference!

I hope you are enjoying the new site, it's been a learning experience, a lot of work and a lot of expense, but I think the final product has been worth the effort and wait. I hope to hear from you soon!

Welcome to the newly redesigned College Hill Arsenal web site! This has been a long time coming and involved substantial amounts of labor and expense. When discussing a new site with many of you, the most common comment was "save the Previously Sold section". Well, we have done that, again at the cost of much designer time and expense. However, some things did not transfer well or work quite the way we had hoped.

If you are an customer that previously had an account on the old site, you will probably have to create a new account on this one. I am sorry for the inconvenience, but the data base import failed to capture and export passwords, thus rendering the old accounts useless. In some cases your old account may have transferred correctly, but more than likely it did not. If you have any trouble establishing a new account, contact me and I will help you.

With the new site design, we have lost the text box on the home page that I used to keep everyone updated on my travel schedule. This has been replaced with this page, which you can access by clicking on the menu link box in the left column that reads "News & Announcement". I will continue to keep you updated from this page the the best of my ability.

Enjoy the new site, I hope you appreciate the numerous improvements that are visible and not so visible, which are sort of "under the hood" performance enhancements. The biggest one is that the site is now mobile friendly and should provide an easier browsing experience for you all. Another nice feature is that there is a box on the left side of the home page that will always list the three most recently added items, with thumbnail photos that you can click on to go directly to that item. This is even faster than going to the "New Items" section, as the three most recent items will always be there!

Thanks for visiting the site. I look forward to doing business with many of you.
